I'm so bummed! We are going in March and have always enjoyed staying at the Poly. Today we got a letter that the volcano pool will be closed. We have 6 and 8 yo DSs who love water slides. Options are staying there (they offered access to GF pools) and huffing it over, or trying to switch to WL. We love the convenience of the monorail and quick busless MK access (otherwise would consider Beach or Yacht Club). Anyone stayed at both and feel strongly we should go one way vs another? We don't really go for the feel of GF or Contemporary. Thanks so much!:sad2:

I'm a Poly lover who just returned a few weeks ago from a stay at the WL. We loved it. The Poly is still my Fave. but we had a GREAT deal at the WL. We liked the fact that the WL is all in one building, which was nice for getting coffee early in the AM and sodas at night. It was great to have the hot tubs too, which the Poly doesn't have. We got married in Hawaii, so the Poly feels more romantic to us, but we loved WL too. The one thing we DIDN't like about WL was the food selections at Roaring forks for kids...just not much to choose from if you are on DDP. If you're not on the dining plan, you'll be fine, if you are, go into it aware that the 2 kid's choices are PB&J and chicken nuggets. If I knew the Volcano pool would be closed, I'd pick WL over Poly....I think that quiet pool would get crowded VERY fast. This is assuning they are giving you a credit back for the price difference, or giving you an upgraded room at Wl.

Hi Alexedan,

When will you be there in March? We also have reservations at the Poly in March, but I have not received a letter (yet :scared: )

***Me again. Nevermind! I kept reading and I saw the post about the volcano pool closing.

I would stay at the Poly and use the GF pool -- its not far - by monorail its one stop over there and really don't mind the walk back.

Liz

I would still go to the Poly, the quiet pool is still available. It may be too cold for swimming that time of year anyway.

We love the YC/BC resorts, they are gorgeous, have great location to 2 parks, great pool areas and fantastic restaurants

We stayed at the Poly and it was just ok to us, we loved the YC so much more
