I am heading out to Disney with my children for the first time this September we do have the dining plan and we are looking into character meals and what is the best ones to do
What do you all recommend ? My children are two boys ages 9 and 7 and a girl that is 5 years old.
So what would you recommend doing ? What are the best ones out there ?
Plus checking to see about the Disney breakfast I think it is with the Little Einsteins what do you all know about it ? I think it was breakfast can't remember now been doing so much research.

Thank you so much

First off--I would call ASAP and get ADR's. September is free dining--thus, many people have already made reservations.

As for character meals--I'd pick which characters your kids will like to see the best, and go from there.:thumbsup2 . We really liked dinner at Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends--the food was great. Also really liked the Princess Storybook dinner at Norway (Epcot). Food was just okay, but 5 different princesses were there--my daughters were in heaven!

We did the Little Einsteins meal for lunch. They have it for breakfast and lunch (at least the did this past Sept). The food was just okay, but my kids loved it--lots of interaction with the characters. That being said, I did feel it was geared towards younger kids (pre-school and under); your 9 year old and possibly 7 year old might think it "babyish". I'm sure your 5 year old would love it though!

Personally one of my favorite character meals is the dinner (or lunch) at Liberty Tree Tavern. Technically called Minne and Friends, Pluto and Goofy are pretty much a done deal, and I think Chip and Dale? as well as Minnie.
The food I can't comment on, as the last time I was there was 10 years ago, but the pictures I've seen look nice! Besides I don't have high expectations for food at character meals, you are there for the interaction really, and the food is second.
I'd be booking reeeeeallly quickly though! With free dining things are sure to be booked solid very fast. Don't give up though, if you get your heart set on something call EVERY DAY to see if there are any cancelations.
The other character meal we have is garden Grill, again the food is okay, but you get Mickey and Minnie, Chip and Dale. Some of the best memories I have from my last trip are those two meals.

Good luck!

We loved Chef Mickeys for breakfast, Liberty Tree for Dinner and The Castle with Cinderella for Lunch. Those were our favorites. Next trip we will do 1900 Park Faire. Have fun!

O'hana for breakfast Lilo & Stitch. Chef Mickey for dinner Whispering Canyon Cafe, I know not character but a fun place so I have read.

We did our two character meals in the MK.
We went to the liberty tree tavern for dinner and the character interactions was awesome. Minnie, chipndale, goofy and pluto all came by our table 2-3 times that night. The food was very good too, but it was family style, and not a big assortment.

We also did The crystal palace for lunch and the food was phenomenal, as was the character interaction. We were there for my son's birthday so we got a second visit with Tigger to bring out his cake which was very special.

For my next trip, I'd like to do crystal palace for breakfast and try to get an adr for early before the park opens. I have also heard that chef mickeys is great.

Based on teh age of your children they would probably enjoy Chef Mickey's (food is really not that good - but all the characters my boys love - Mickey Donald etc.) or Liberty Tree Tavern (Goofy and friends). The character dining at the Grand Floridian is more suited to girls (Alice in Wonderland) and the Crystal Palace is better for younger children (Pooh). We also enjoyed O'Hana's for breakfast. I have not been to the Little Einstein breakfast - so I cannot comment and seeing as I have 2 boys we have not done any of the Princess dining options (but I may go by myself next time)!

Chef Mickey's is great for younger kids. Early ADR's mean more time with the character before the place gets too crowded, and less time waiting in lines for photos, food etc. I think our last breakfast at Chef Mickey's was at 7:20 am...worked out great.

As you can see I have DS9 and DS4 and we just did:

Chef Mickey breakfast: food was ok, characters were great, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald and Goofy.

Crystal Palace lunch: food was awesome! buffet with lots of choices Pooh, Eyeore, Tigger, and Piglet.

Garden Grill lunch: family style food was very good Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale characters came around often!

H&V Playhouse Disney breakfast food ok but DS4 LOVES Leo so this was a must for us, they have a blast dancing and singing too.

Good luck but I agree call soon and if you can be flexible, we really liked lunches, it was anice break out of the heat and kids were still good not tired like one night when DS4 crashed at 7!

Last September we did lot´s of character dinning (also had free DDP)

1900 Park Fare - Cinderella Gala Feast for DD3 birthday - good food and great charcter interaction. Cinderella came to sing happy birthday

Liberty Tree - MNSSHP - Good character experience but did not like the food.

Chef Mickey for breakfast and dinner - Everything was great both times

Chrystal Palace for dinner - Great experience.

This time we will try Princess Storybook and Breakfast with Lilo and Stich. We will repeat Chrystal Palce and Chef Mickey.

Have a great time!

Lilly.

I would do:

Chef Mickey's
Crystal Palace
Liberty Tree Tavern

We ate all 3 of these places for dinner in the past week & loved all of them!!
This was about our 6th time dining at CM, & we have a great time every time.

**We also tried O'hanas for breakfast - it was great!

We like Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare and Akershus for the princess storybook meal.
