First a little background, all of my family, well immediate family and almost everyone else, lives in Minnesota. I now live in Texas as of July this year so this will be my first Christmas without them. I had to do Thanksgiving without them too.
Anyways, I do have an aunt down here and two cousins. I live with my boyfriend so I've got his family stuff to go to as well. Well for thanksgiving we didn't really want to go to my aunts house. My bf knows one of my cousins as he used to be roommates with her. He's not too fond of her so he didn't really want to go and we weren't going to, but than my cousin calls me up and is like my mom would really love it if you came. Ugh. So we go. It was bad. We seriously didn't stay long. On thanksgiving we first went to one of his aunts house and had a good time. Ate a lot of good food and hung out with his two sisters most of the time. Then we left to go to my aunts house and the first two seconds we're there my aunt starts complaining about how bad Minnesota was (we went up to Minnesota in October, my aunt with one of her daughter and bf and I seperately. We flew up at separate times.). We both had a good time when we went, but apparently she didn't cause she went up with a bad attitude. So yeah on thanksgiving, the day we're supposed to be THANKful she's complaining. Joy. Than my older cousin starts being rude to my bf for no reason at all. It just wasn't fun so once we were done eating we left.
So now I have my cousin again on my for going to the older cousins for Christmas. Seeing as thankgiving wasn't so great with them before we don't really want to go for christmas. Plus I have no money to buy them presents and I know christmas isn't about that, but I still feel like they're expecting it from me and I just know my older cousin will probably say something rude about it. Gee sorry. I feel bad about it, but I can't help. I have more important things I need money for like bills. Bf and I might be working on Christmas Eve as both of our jobs are open that day. And we already plan on seeing his family for Christmas. I don't know. But what would you do?
