We are moving back to Orlando in November. I am currently a manager at Buffalo Wild Wings and can possibly transfer to one in Orlando.
I am not sure if I really want to be a manager anymore (5/10hr days) and like the idea of being a server again and having more free time.
The money is probably going to be about the same either way, the issue is: do I go for the sure thing with the transfer and be "stuck" in management or do I try and find a serving job once I get there (hopefully at Disney)?

I would definately apply at Disney and see if you could get a Restaurant management position!

If you can definitely transfer I would do so and then job search when you get settled in. This is assuming you need the $$. If you can take a break between working, then don't transfer and apply elsewhere. I'd just be afraid to be without a job too long, or to have to take a job that I didn't really like. Good luck!

I have heard the rule of thumb for Florida is to go with a job waiting for you. Go with the sure thing for now. Unless you secure a job prior to moving.

I agree, take a transfer then look for something else when you get there. BTW, we're going to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings tonight. But, not in Wisconsin or Orlando, I'm in Colorado.

Take the managment job, they apply else.....remember what they say, "the best time to look for a job, is when you already have one". Good Luck

I would take my picture, location and who you work for out of this for one thing! :faint: No telling who is reading, if somebody from your company knows you might be looking elsewhere, they might give you a whole bunch of time to look!!

Ummmm yeah what Michie said!

It's ok, my Regional Manager knows that I am looking and I have been very upfront with everyone. They have already hired my replacement and I was reassured that I would be working until I move. I know things are never guaranteed, but I trust my RM and I don't think he is going to do anything shady. Like I told my husband, if I get let go early, then they made my decision for me!
