This is just justification for your actions. Your intent is different when you manipulate a situation, or knowingly adjust a situation in order to suit your needs.
Why do you think the germ level is so high at a place like WDW? Because many ill people go to the parks. As I stated, my child was in hospital while on vacation at WDW. We had the Chief of Pediatriacs and 2 other Pediatricians take care of her from Dr. Phillips hospital, and they told us horrible stories of ill children. And, because they do scientific research over there, they have found bacteria and such that even they were surprised at. They basically told us that they wish more parents were like us, and not gone to the parks, and instead stayed at their resort, cancelled their trip altogether, or brought to the hospital.
Like I said, there is nothing neither I, nor anyone else can say, as you have already determined that your decision is the best one, based on the fact that since WDW is a germy place, what's one more germ!
No reason to debate it anymore, as we all know where these threads lead...
I hope the OP and her family are ok, Tiger
I'm not justifying anything...simply stating my reasons for my own beliefs that do not need to be justified. And I don't think you get what my reasons are since you asked the bolded question and then answered it the way you did.
I believe the germ level is so high at WDW because anywhere that you have tens of thousands of people even if they are seemingly 100% healthy at the time, is going to have a very, very high germ level. I do not think it's because people intentionally go when they are sick. I do think this happens, but I don't believe it impacts the level of germs.
If I listened to doctors with horrible stories of ill children, I think it would affect how I might react. So I can understand where you're coming from. But unfortunately, like I said, I don't think that very kind gesture will really alleviate any additional sick children by keeping yours, or mine, or all mildly ill kids, away. Handwashing might help bring the numbers down a bit. I'm guessing that's what a lot of doctors would say too, although I'm not sure if there are enough studies of places with that volume of people and whether or not keeping feverish people out has any impact.
Bottom line, whether people with fevers are there or not, the germ level is huge so we all need to act accordingly. And I think most of us do as I often hear of people bringing their antibacterial lotion and wipes with them. This thread has got me thinking, however, that the antibact. isn't enough - I think we will be going for full handwashing before even eating snacks when we go in August.
OP - No matter what your decision on this - you've got some of us behind you either way. I hope you are either enjoying your vacation now or nursing your family back to health at home.
