We are booked at the Beach Club (only 2 weeks to go :cool1: ). But a trip report (gotta quit reading those suckers....) got me researching off-site locations and I found a pool home available for our dates.

The Beach Club is about $1000 higher than the pool home :headache:

Just a few other details - we will rent a car no matter which one we do; and we have APs so parking is free.

So what woud you do????? Need to make the decision quickly :goodvibes

$1000 is a good chunk of change to put away for next year's WDW trip! :rotfl:

Are you planning on renting a car either way? Buying parking each day could add up, but still sounds like it'd be cheaper.

We like staying in the BW area because we like to spend the evenings at Epcot, eating dinner, wandering through the countries, and watching Illuminations. Then when everyone crowds to the front entrance, we slip out the back door and we're at our hotel. Plus we really like Stormalong Bay, although it can be crowded.

We also like to stay close by because we take a break at the pool in the middle of each day of touring.

If you like these things, too, I would think carefully about switching.

On the other hand, if more room and a private pool are appealing, and you dont go back and forth to your room during the day, the house might be the way to go.

You would lose the convenience of being right by EC and DHS, plus the "Disney" feel of the place, but you would save alot of money, too.

Good luck making your decision!:)

since this is a what I would do question, I personally would stay on site. I just love the ease and convenience and honestly when I am on vacation I don't want to drive anywhere

Off-site for me! I won't spend the money to stay on site anymore it is just too expensive and I can get so much better deals for more room at a close by resort. We come and go during the day and never have a problem. $1000 is a lot of money to save. My experience at the BC wasn't so great either. The staff was less than friendly other than the greeter, Art and less than accomodating with problems we encountered. The pool is great, but it still is just a pool. I would do off site and save the money.

We won't ever stay off site again, we just loose some of the disney magic. It really is a personal decision but IMO staying onsite is just part of the of vacation.:goodvibes

have you ever stayed off site?

Also, are you renting a car or are you driving there? If you are renting a car figure the savings if you are on property you wouldnt need the car..

I love to stay on property, however.... if you have never stayed off site maybe you should try it so you would have an experience to compare it to in the future;)

We stayed at Seven Dwarfs Villas last year! Loved it!:thumbsup2 I would save the money and put it towards next years trip. A large house with your own pool sounds great. :woohoo: Go for it! At least you will have that experience to compare next time. :wizard:

We've done both and it's really a personal preference. Some things to consider are the money you can save by eating at "home" rather than at the resorts, particularly for breakfast - the choices are unlimited too. How close the house is to the resort. We were less than 10 minutes away after we'd found an amazing short cut in from our "home". One time about 10 years ago, however, we were really far away and it made the day seem so long to drive "home" after a full day at the parks. We love the "staying in the middle of the magic" thing too, but $1,000 is $1,000! I know my DH wouldn't think twice!

We stayed offsite once, & it was our most relaxing WDW vacation. It seemed like we had more quality, family time that trip than we've ever had. We stayed in a timeshare as the idea of renting a FL home doesn't appeal to us. We live in a FL home an hour away. ;) Now, we only stay onsite, but not because we thought we were missing the Disney magic. We do it for the transportation. My DH hates to drive on vacation, & I even hate to drive at home. :p If you planned to drive anyway, I'd give offsite a try. You'll never know, until you try it.

I'd go with the pool home. You would have the best of both worlds, Disney and a private family holiday :)

$1000....

If the home is in Windsor Hill/Palms, Emerald Isle or that general location I would move so fast it would make your head spin!
