What would you do regarding tickets from previous family vacation?

What was paid for the tickets was $245. What I want to know is - if this was a hopper ticket, no expiration, can the 1 day cost of $40 be applied to a new ticket with no hopping, expires in 14 days type ticket?

At the very least, your new ticket will have to have the same number of days (or more) as your last ticket, magic plus pack, and non-expiration.

If you park hopped with your last ticket, you will also have to have park hopping put on the new ticket.

Sorry! :(

Ah I see...
So even buying a 3 day, non hopper ticket, expires with pluses (only 2 with a 3-day ticket) and using my 1 day left isn't really going to do me any good since we actually want to do both water parks, PI, and DQ...so we'll end up spending more buying the extra admissions. The cost between 3 and 4 day is not much.

You want 4 major days of park hopping, and 4 plus admissions (2 water park admissions, 1 Pleasure Island, and 1 DisneyQuest) Is that correct?

If so, your options would be (and all include tax):

a.) Apply old ticket to a new 6 day premium non-expiring ticket.
Total out of pocket cost: $301.04

b.) Purchase a 3 day magic plus pack ticket, Pleasure Island admission, and Disney Quest admission.
Total out of pocket cost: $284.30

c.) Purchase a 4 day magic plus pack ticket, and Pleasure Island admission.
Total out of pocket cost: $263.00

If you're going strictly based on how much you're going to put out of pocket, I would go with option C. That's a 4 day ticket that will expire, with 3 plus admission, and no hopping. It will get you the 4 days of major park admission you need. You can use the 3 plusses at the two water parks and DisneyQuest.

If you're going for your best value, I would lean more towards A, especially if you have plans to go back.

Hope that helps! :)

No, I want 4 days of non-hopping, plus pack, expire tickets (it's cheaper)

oh never mind... I guess you covered that in option C. yes :)

Yes, my mistake. I meant to say NON hopping! So all of those options are for no hopping.

Really old tickets have occasionally been "bundled" to use in exchanges because of their relatively small worth against current ticket prices. But it's pretty rare to find someone who will bend that rule.
Way back then, people should have used old tickets as-is. Trading in really old tickets was a bad thing to do then because you might trade in, say, three days of admission towards perhaps one day's worth of the price of a new ticket.

I've got left over Park Hopper Plus passes from 2003. Thought I docucmented everything VERY WELL and have recorded that I have one day left at park and all my "plusses." I would like to just have this verified so there will be no problems when I enter the park on early entry day. Who or what can say to me, "You have 1 day left to Hop, and 3 Pluses Mam, have a happy mickey day!" I would like to verify and be reassured in advance. Strips wear out - things happen. Let me know where I can check this out. THANKS!!!!

I would just go right to the turnstiles and assume the pass would let me in.

There is a Guest Relations window outside the park near the turnstiles.

If you have documented your visits yourself they will probably take your word for it and reprint the ticket if the ticket had worn out.

Technically could I use the passes on two different days?

Like we could get a 4-day pass with plus option for my DH.
I could use the two tickets that have 1-day left, buy 2-day with plus for myself.
Purchase additional PI ticket.

4-day pass with plus (3)= $235 (ticketmania)
2-day pass with plus (2)= $174.67 w/ tax (disney)
1 pleasure island ticket = $16.00 (ticketmania)
Total = $425.67

That's about $50-65 savings...depending where tickets are purchased (disney versus ticketmania or another place)

Granted, if I were to use a 1-day with hopper we wouldn't hop since the 4-day pass with plus would not be with hopper option.

Also, I booked a darn vacation package with tickets through AAA which means I'd have to do a lot of phone calls and cancelling because with a package everyone in the party has to have the same tickets. Unless you are allowed to just tell them there is one adult in the room - because aren't the rooms for 1 or 2 people the same rate?

Also, what are the gate costs of tickets? I would image if I went to guest services to do anything they would apply the cost to the actual gate cost of the ticket. Looking only it looks like it is discounted a little bit for purchasing in advance. I guess I can rely on ticketmania or mousesavers for the gate prices?

You can't check it before you go. You can only have this verified at Guest Services at any of the Disney Resorts, or Guest Relations at the parks and Downtown Disney.

If the ticket is worn out, they can use the serial numbers on the ticket to replace it. You'll be fine.

I don't understand your first question, but your breakdown looks fine to me. The only thing is that you said you wanted to visit two water parks, DisneyQuest, and Pleasure Island. So you will need a total of EIGHT plus admissions. Your breakdown only gives you 6. You're still short two plus visits.

I wouldn't screw around with a package. I don't know when you're traveling, but for all you're going through, I would reccomend booking a room only reservation, and then cancelling your package. Everyone in the room needs to be listed on your reservation, so yes - everybody would have to have the same ticket.

In all of these breakdowns the max ticket you're getting is a 4 day ticket. There are no advance purchase savings on tickets of 4 days or less. You have to have 5 or more days to get an advance purchase discount.

Thanks for your help Stacky. Yes I know there are 4 pluses per person, but we would probably buy the PI tickets since they are the cheapest versus a water park.

The thing is I had a room only reservation and cancelled it for a package through AAA. So now I don't know if I really feel like calling back and cancelling the package for a room.

We might just see what the cost difference is between a 6-day with 4 pluses which may be cheaper to do instead of buying separate PI tickets... Even though I don't think we will have enough to do 6 days worth of the parks, but the cost diference may not be much so we won't feel like we wasted.

On the water park days, we may head to MK,Epcot during the late magic hours... Then plan another day for Epcot as well. We are two adults and DH said last time he went to MK he hated it and I honestly can't remember so we may just not really do much in MK...

Plus even though we've been before, I'll consider this our first trip so at least we will get a sampling of it all :)

Just so we're clear, looking at your plus admissions, you had (3) on 1 ticket, (2) on another, and (1) Pleasure Island ticket. That's a total of 6. So you'd have to buy another Pleasure Island admission AND either a water park or DisneyQuest admission.

Unless I've missed something which is entirely possible. :)

Now, we might just use the tickets as is. I know most people do AK then afterwards head to another park. I guess we can play it by ear and if we decide to do this we can.

I actually contacted Disney and tried to ask them about the monetary ticket value and if a new ticket had to be the same attributes (hopping, non expire) but they just said I had to see guest services. I guess they really don't want to tell you anything over email or the phone, huh? I think I'd be better off using as is rather than trying to figure it out when I get there.

I also realized getting a 6-day with pluses is only $2 more per ticket and we will get 4 pluses which is cheaper than buying a separate admission to PI. We do want to budget so we won't get the nonexpire option so we may just loose the couple days.

I know it's been asked, but I just want to make sure - I can do a "plus" and a park in the same day (i.e. Typhoon Lagoon and Epcot the same day)? That's not considered hopping , right?

Disney stopped dealing with all "What's on my ticket?" issues over the phone to try and help curb the black market ticket sellers. So yeah - they ain't telling you! ;)

As far as whether or not your ticket has to have the same attributes, I made an FAQ at the top of the page. When I made it, I contacted a Guest Relations cast member, so I can tell you that the policy I told you earlier is the policy. There are cast members who will bend the rules, but you're taking a chance depending on one of them.

And yes - your plus admissions are totally seperate from your regular park admission. So you can visit a water park, and Epcot in the same day.

Keep the questions coming! I'm happy to help in any way I can! :) :wave2:

You are very helpful.. But since we don't want to get another hopper, non expire this time (different attributes) I think we'll just hang on to these just in case... if we decide to hop on a day we'll use it, if not we'll be okay... :)

Glad you found a plan that will work well for you! :)

We have five hopper tickets left. Last time we were there, they marked what was left on them, except I can't remember if we used any of the days after that or not!!! Therefore, I am just going to hold onto them and find out what is left on them when we get there. It looks like we have 4 park days and 10 pluses! DH and I will use most of the pluses this trip. I bought an AP and he'll get a MYW w/ hopper, no pluses. DD and friend will get MYW w/ pluses. Still not sure if we should get exp or no exp. I heard you could add that later if you want to. (Can anyone verify this?) If we don't use all the days, we will pay for the no exp. before we leave.

Since I have an AP and it looks like we have 4 park days left, may just have to plan another trip! :goodvibes

You can add no expiration later, but be advised that you will pay based on the full number of days.

So if you buy a 7 day ticket, use 3 days, and then want to add non-expiration, you will pay for SEVEN days of non-expiration.

Make sense?
