What would you do? RE: HDDR

We have PS"s for the 7:15pm Hoop De Doo for DS's b-day in October. Usually, we rent a car for the week and we can drive to FW. Since I'm having a hard time finding a decent rate for a car that week, we may go with a towncar instead.

Here's my dilemma, how do we get there and back? Should I cancel it?

We have 2 young kids, DD 17 months, DS will be 6. We are staying at the BCV. I'm just imagining that transportation with the WDW buses will take hours! We would have to take a bus to a park, take another bus/boat to FW, then an internal bus to the HDDR. And of course, coming back to the resort will be late at night and again several transfers. (We ate at Chef Mickey's 1 night when it was just DS-3 at the time and it took us 2 hours to get back to the hotel!)

We could probably get a cab from BCV to FW with no problem but are there cabs readily available there to get us back?

What are your plans that day? Getting to Ft Wilderness is an easy and relaxing boatride from MK. If you are coming from MK, that's easy to do. If coming from BCV, you could hop to MK then jump on the boat to Ft Wilderness.

I'm sure others will have ideas for you, as well.

When we did the late seating at HDDR, they had a bus for each resort waiting for us when it got out - we jumped on and went directly to our resort.

Pioneer Hall is a short walk from the dock at Fort wilderness [less then 10 minutes] and the time on the ferry from MK is only about 25 minutes.
I allowed 2 hours in May to get from POFQ to HDDR via MK and arrived at HDDR more then 1 hour before the show.

Bus to MK and boat to FW. It's not a pain at all. There are buses to the resorts after HDDR is over (at least there were when we went in February).

You do know that the cab will take you to the front of FW and you will then need to catch a bus from there to Pioneer Hall, right?

A cab/car will take you to #15 where you will catch a bus to the bus stop just 'below' #4 on the map.

Thanks. Yes I did know that but I figured it would still cut out 2 bus/boat rides from the resort.

Does anyone know if they still offer the buses back directly back to the resorts after the show? Thanks again to everyone!
