I'm going in October with girlfriends, and it's a very short trip with a tight schedule. It was decided that we wouldn't go to MGM as a group. I'm trying to decide whether to go to MGM on my own. I've been before, and will go again in the next few years - but I haven't done RnR coaster. The only time I really have is to take a couple of hours out of our Epcot day to pop over to MGM and do RnR and maybe ToT. Given the time it takes to get from one park to the next, bag searches etc., is RnR coaster really worth it? Is it that great? What would YOU do? I should mention that I'm happy to skip FW at Epcot this time around, and only do the F & W stuff at WS after 11 a.m. And also, the next time I'm at Disney I'll have 3 little kids with me, and in order to do RnR, we'll have to do baby swap.

Assuming you're staying on site, I would just go do EMH at MGM, and just do RnR since that'll be one of the attractions open during EMH. That way, you'll be done by 9:00am and you'll be free to do Epcot or any other place.

If Its not MGM's EMH day, then I would be there at opening. You could grab a fast pass for TOT, then head down to RnR!! Persoanlly, I love it. The beginning, when you take off....woooo.. its great!!!! Sometimes there is nobody there and you can get back on RnR with no wait. Then go do ToT! If there is a line, use your fast pass. If not, save it. Maybe you can ride it twice and use your fast pass the second time.

There is a no bags line. so if you can stick your ticket & money in your back pocket, you wont even have to stand in the bag check line.

Have your friends take anything you will need at Epcot, and have them stick it in a locker for you. That way, you wont have to go back to your room for anything. You can hop on the boat, and make your way over to Epcot!!

We're actually offsite, about 40 mins drive away! We'll be at MNSSHP the night before, and might not make it to WDW right at opening. So, given the fact that it might be 10 or 11 a.m. before we get to WDW, and I want to take full advantage of F & W at Epcot, is RnR such a "must-do" that I should make a detour to MGM to ride it?

Hi. My two cents is that the F&W will continue on until 9pm. You are saying you might get there at 10 or 11, I think it leaves lots of time to experience it all. I haven't made the walk from Epcot to MGM, but have read lots here saying it is quicker than the boat. You should walk over, get a fastpass for one, either ToT or RnR, and ride the other. They are such fun and I wouldn't want to miss them! You can walk back and enjoy the food and wine! If you are worried that doing the two rides is taking up too much time, just do the roller coaster since it's what you were wanting to try. I love it!

RnR is definitely worth a detour!

I would walk over towards theboardwalk and take the walkway to MGM for RnR and ToT, I thikn they are worth it. The boat is a nice ride, but it does stop at multiple places along the way. If you can catch it at the Swan or Dolphin, then ride, you are better off riding. The back entrance of EPCOT is not usually crowded and even if you have bags, the security line to get back into EPCOT will probably be very quick. Have fun!

I agree... the RnRC & TOT are both very worth it. If you're in a huge hurry, the walk is at least 5-10 minutes faster than the boat (the boat is a 30 minute ride from MGM to EPCOT.)
Have fun!!!

Get dropped at MGM gate, do RnR and ToT, then get to Epcot on my own. I'm happy to walk if it's not too hot!

I think that sounds like a plan. I know we wouldnt want to miss doing either TOT or RnR!! When you leave MGM, take the boat and just get off at the first resort it stops at (Boardwalk Area). Thats what we did. Then we just walked over to Epcot and it took just a few minutes.

We did that a couple of week ago on our trip. We weren't planning to do MGM on our last day, but we loved RNR and TOT so much we just had to do them one last time. MGM had EMH that day, so we arrived at 8:00 and were able to do both rides plus Millionaire and still take the boat to the Boardwalk, then walked to Epcot. We arrived in Epcot around noon and never felt rushed at all. I'd say to definitely try it.
