What would you do on your last night at WDW?

Trying to decide what to do on our last night on May 12. Should we go to MK and watch Wishes (we will have seen this twice already this week) or should we save Fantasmic for our last night? We can do Fantasmic earlier in the week, just trying to decide which would be better for our last night.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

I always have a "plan" for what days we'll go to what parks, but we always leave the last day of our trips open... then I ask my DS14 and DS11 what THEY want to do the last day, and whatever they say is what we do. If it were just me, I'd probably stake out a great spot to see Wishes or Illuminations and relax there.

My heartfelt advice: NEVER leave a "must-do" for your last night, if you can help it! Remember, rain does fall, and fireworks/Fantasmic can get rained out! If you left something for the last possible opportunity and it doesn't happen for reasons outside of your control, it can end your trip on a sad note rather than a magical one. I would say to try to see Wishes and Fantasmic earlier in your trip, if possible, and as previous poster said, keep your last night a little flexible, in case of bad weather or other spoilers.

This is exactly what I was going to say. We always try to get our "must dos" out of the way and then the rest of the trip we can redo all of our favorites. I would hate to plan on something on the last night and then not get to do it.

Why plan just find out what you liked the best and would like to see one more time
When went someone tried to plan out stuff, but we quickly found out that planning was just too hectic and just floated around and we did what we wanted

I agree-- DON'T save a must-do for the last night. It took us three trips to finally see Fantasmic because it always rained when we went, two years in a row, on four different nights. We finally broke our streak of bad luck last year, and made up for it by seeing it three times. :)

I personally love doing the MK as a last night, especially with Wishes and Spectromagic. We usually have seen it earlier in the trip, and it's our usual trip "capper." (similar to our traditional beginning--we usually arrive at our resort in the late morning, always go to the Magic Kingdom first, Pirates pirate: the first ride, then lunch at Pecos Bill's. :sunny:

If the weather was going to cooperate I would go for a nice dinner at Le Cellier and then watch Illuminations. I love walking out on the last night and sidewalk light up as I am leaving Epcot!!!

Thanks for all the advice. We will be doing Spectro, Wishes, and Fantasmic earlier in the week and let the kids decide what they want to see on our last night.

We have a tradition for our last night. This is true for all trips except our Thanksgiving trips which have their own tradition. Anyway, our last night is always dinner at Chef Mickey's and the evening spent at MK. We watch Spectro and Wishes and just kind of take it easy in the park. By the last day of our trip we will have been on every ride and attraction several times. We just relax on our last night, enjoy Wishes, and say goodbye until our next trip. Now, on Thanksgiving, our last night is always the first night of Candlelight. So, dinner is at Le Cellier with the package, see CP, and end with Illuminations. We enjoy both traditions equally.
