What would you do if you won the lottery?

I would:
Pay off all my bills
Buy a BMW (used)
Repair the house
Buy XBox Live
Buy 10 pairs of shoes and a pile of books

And.... QUIT MY HORRIBLE JOB!!!!

That is fun. ;)

...WHAT??!?!? You're not gonna buy yourself a schnazzy new snowcone machine??

....I would:

1) pay off all my bills
2) take my entire family (well, except my DB-in-L, cuz' his feet stink!) on a big family vacation
3) help my DH open up a shop (or website) so he can sell the furniture that he makes
4) give a LARGE contribution to my church
5) put some money aside for my 3 DS's

....then I'm gonna catch some tasty waves, skip on over to England and jam with Mick and the Stones. You're all invited!

(of course, that is my Jeff Spicoli tribute! ;) )

1. I would pay off our house and any other debts
2. Give my Uncle enough money to buy a house for him, my Aunt and their 4 kids. They currently live in a small two bedroom apartment with four kids under 8.
3. Give money to the rest of the family for various needs
4. Start college funds for the younger cousins
5. Buy two new cars
6. Take my family on a long Disney vacation and look into buying DVC.
7. Finish up college and do what I always dreamed of doing, journalism since I would not have to worry about having a high paying job.

I would:

Share some of it with my family

Buy the home of my dreams

Splurge on some travelling

Save the rest for retirement

That's easy - back to back to back to back Disney cruises in the Walt Disney Suite:lmao:

Pay off ALL bills, esp. mortgage. Then RETIRE and enjoy my life while I'm still fairly young. :yay:

$10 million (after taxes) is reasonable, and easy. Invest it all. I'm 38 years old. If I thought I would live to be 80, I would have 42 years to go. Even if I buried it in the back yard, I could dig up $235k each year and easily live on that. Investing would make even more.

$1 million for each kid in the bank. 2 kids, down to $8 mil.

I have 2 nephews, $1 mil for them. Down to $6 mil.

2 sets of parents (in-laws included). $1 mil for each there, down to 4 mil.

Invest $4 mil. At 5%, it would make $200k a year? If you can't live on that, you need your head examined.

:cheer2: How fun! I love dreaming about what I would do "if".....

Let's see. First thing I would do is pay off all my debt - whew, that would be a big load off my mind.
For us, as an immediate family, I would take a vacation and get away from the media that would be sure to be hounding me, lol!
For my Mom, I would hire her a cleaning lady. My mom is 85 and loves to clean her house, but just can't do it anymore. So a maid is what she'd get.
My husband would get a new car. I like my little Vibe, so until it dies that is the car I will keep. Hubby is driving a van that is showing signs of it's age.
I have no idea what I would do with the rest. Depends on how much it is I suppose. Not to be selfish, but if we won enough to live the rest of our lives off of, I would want to keep most of it. If it was a huge amount - I would spread the wealth to my sister's and their families.
Then take another vacation! LOL!!! A Disney Cruise...on yeah.:cool1:

1- Call DH first thing and have him quit his job and come home (trucker gone a LOT)

2-Take 10 % give to our church

3-Pay off the house
4-Pay off the student loan
5-Pay off all other bills
6-Get an appt with the horse trainer I wish I could afford now
7-Take a chunk & give to DDs to do whatever they want
8-Set up a trust for DGS
9-adopt another horse
10-Have a financially stress free life :)

I have always said that if I win the lottery, no matter the size, 50% of my winnings would immediately go to the Diabetes research. I am a Type I diabetic, and I definitely would want them to have more money for research.

After that, I'd invest for my kids as well as for my wife and I.

Anything left after that would be for some fun stuff: a bigger house, a fun vacation, whatever we felt was appropriate.

Okay, in my dream, I won the Powerball or some other jackpot that's like 100's of millions of dollars. Not just some tiny couple million dollar jackpot. ;) So here goes:

DF is a financial analyst, so I'm obligated to let him put some into investments for us so that we make money on it every year. ;)

After that, I would buy:

A nice sized house (nothing ridiculous, just a larger house built exactly how I want it) with a farm & lots of cows and pigs and horses. :goodvibes

A Mercedes Benz SL65 AMG :lovestruc

mercedes-benz-sl-65-amg-black-series.jpg

New clothes & shoes & books

A housekeeper

A house for my parents & younger brother & DF's parents

Pay off all my bills

Donate a ton to the NFED and & the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Quit my job

Take the entire fam. on a huge vacation

It depends on how much I won, but since we're pretending, I'll dream big.;)

  • Pay all my debt off
  • buy my mom a cabin in the Smoky Mountains
  • send my dad on a sailing vacation through the Caribbean
  • set up college and trust accounts for the kids
  • Do something for my inlaws (not cash for MIL because she would just spend it on my SIL or BIL)
  • buy a small horse farm and set up a therapeutic riding center for special needs kids
  • host a huge family reunion
  • invest, invest, invest
  • buy a truck for DH
  • of course got to WDW

Nice :goodvibes

After the initial shopping spree (mostly clothes, shoes, etc) and the extended trip to WDW, I'd pay off my house, redo the kitchen, put in a inground pool and landscape the yard, buy my husband and son new jeeps, buy me a new volvo, and save the rest for vacations, college, and helping out family and friends.

ETA: More of what I would do if it were a multi-million win. Besides the above stuff, I'd open a children's bookstore (I'd have to quit my job), buy a couple of vacation homes - one in St. Joe, Michigan and the other in Malta, somewhere. I'd give a lot to charity and research.

I'd love to start a school for gifted children who are not succeeding in traditional schools, but that's beyond me. Maybe I could finance it if I found someone I trusted.

I would give part of the winnings to my 5 brothers. Then I would start a foundation in my late wife's name and it would concentrate on 2 things:

1) Stem cell research for those with diabetes and ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease). (I know-this will open up a can of worms)

2)Organizing swap kidney transplants for those in need.

I hope opinions will not judge...I am sorry for your loss Coach

Pay off all my debt, pay off all my dad's debt.
Buy a car. Buy a killer sound system for my car. Buy my own house. Install a whole house sound system and entertainment system. I'd have a room dedicated to all the movies I currently own and will own in the future. There would also be a security system in place.

Invest a huge chunk for my future where I can actually draw a stipend. I have money invested now, I just can't touch it until I reach retirement age without losing half of it. :(

Give my sister and each of her kids some money. Unfortunately, they will probably all blow it within a few months.

Set aside some money for all 3 of my Godchildren for college/life. Help my best friend get her own place.

I would probably continue working as I don't mind working that much. But depending on how much I won, I may only work part time.

Pay off current debts

Help out family and church

Put a lot away for the future with the help of a fee-only financial planner

Quit my full time job and just work part time somewhere fun, probably a golf store or something with music

Go to WDW more often - with the large amount of DVC points we'd purchase, haha

Help out charitable organizations like Give Kids the World and other medical programs and non-profit arts organizations such as the local symphony and museums and educational programs.

Play a lot of golf

:)
