What would you do IF ....... Take the poll

How accountable are YOU in a theme park?

  • Nothing - no blood, no ambulance, no problem

  • Tell customer service just so they are informed

  • Milk it for all its worth, because SOMEONE has to take blame

  • Its just a bruise, get over it and have a blast the rest of the day!

If you where on a water/river type ride in a theme park (ANY PARK, not just Disney) and you got knocked into the side SO hard that you ended up with a huge bruise on your hip?

I am sorry, I am on a laptop and put my cursor on the wrong box. I meant to vote for the last one.

This is actually a serious question, I ended up with a HUGE bruise today and I don't bruise easy . I showed my husband when we got home tonight and he said "man you should have told someone at the park".
My first thought was WHY?? What are they going to do, its just a bruise.....

I would love to hear input on this.............

I just deal with it, I dont like "telling people"

I wouldn't do anything...seems like a risk you take anywhere, yes? No blame...just an accident :) Of course, when I got home I would whine about it so I got some sympathy :teeth:

who cares? now i expect to get flamed for that by someone who will get on here and say for them any bruise is serious and life threatening due to an anticlotting disease, such as hemophillia.

LOL, sorry but I am sure someone will take it to the next level you are right.
I didnt even think that far ahead, stupid me.

Nothing...what could, or should, they do about it?

This actually happened (but it wasn't a water ride) to DH once in Ocean City, Md. on the Haunted House ride/attraction at the Boardwalk. The car he was riding in jerked really hard around a turn & he actually hurt his ribs/side so badly that he had a hard time walking for several days. This was years ago. I can't recall if he went to the doctor or not, but I think he did. And no, we did not report it to any employees there.

I'd wonder what I managed to bump into this time, and then forget about it.

It's just a bruise. I wouldn't worry about it. :confused3 I bruise VERY easy (due to a medication I take), just someone accidentally running into me can cause one. It's not a big deal at all to me.

That was my point also, its not like they are going to re-design a ride that has been going for YEARS and YEARS becuase someone could and did get a bruise.

I will never forget the thread a while back about the girl on splash mountain.... it got so heated and without re-hashing that, I felt the same way as I do about this.
S*** happens, if an employee came up to you and hit you or something then YA we have issues. But people get hurt (to all degrees) and most times it is no ones FAULT.

I guess to me that would be like walking up to guest servec and saying "I got a sun burn today and ts all your fault" ..........

I don't whine or complain. Unless it hurts a lot and is getting worse, I don't call the doctor. This is not the right way to do it, but it is my way.

I bruise just from exercising. But then again, I walk into doors..... :sad2:

My 2nd trip to WDW @ the CR, I was bit by a spider out by Bay Lake. I must have been allegeric, (no surprise) b/c my leg swelled up & for the rest of the week I was in pain & limping.

But, it's uncontrollable by Disney. They do their best to control the bug population, but they can't control guests who are allergic to almost every bug out there. :wave2:

I got a headache once after riding a new wooden roller coaster. Fortunately it was at the end of the day so we went home instead of riding a few more rides (for a second time). And I haven't gone back on that ride even though I love roller coasters.

I still have scars from my last waterpark trip--things get rough there and since you're wearing almost nothing you don't have the protection of clothes.

Things happen--no biggie.
