What Would You Do About This?

My first W-2 job was as a bagger/cart boy at a supermarket. Even at age 16 I knew not to put pies in the bags sideways. Not even frozen ones.

We did get training on how to bag properly, but there were always a handful of cranky customers with weird bagging idiosyncrasies.

Here on the UK we have used hand held scanners for years. You simply scan each item and pack it how you want as you walk around the supermarket. At the end you point the scanner at the "till", pay the bill and head to your car.
Maybe once a year they get a supervisor to randomly check a few items and if you have alcohol they quickly confirm that you look over eighteen before you leave the area.

Thats me, lol. 🙋🏻‍♀️. If I have to go to a cashier, I’ve started putting down a bag, then everything I want I it, 2nd bag, it’s items etc. At first I was nervous, figured the cashier would think I was nuts. But they’ve told me they don’t mind I do that at all, said makes their job easier knowing exactly how I want them packed.

1) I would have done self-checkout at the store, if that was an option.
2) If not, I would have taken the pies back to the store.
3) If the store was too far away to go back, then before eating the pies, I would have contacted the store to discuss, and would have sent them the picture. They probably would have apologized and offered a coupon or replacement.
4) If I had already neglected to do all these things and the pies had already been eaten, I would conclude that the appropriate time for mentioning this was past. I would be more careful next time to check on such things before driving away from the store.

I would have taken them back; and, I think most people would do the same. If I wanted a crappy looking pie, I could make it myself. :rolleyes1
Bare minimum, I would show the photos to the manager. Any good manager would want to know and retrain their baggers.

I'd dish it up with a spoon and call it cobbler. But, I'd also show the store manager the pictures next time I go, just for training purposes.

That is exactly what my son said! Just stick a spoon in it and call it cobbler😁
