What would you choose......?

I want HBO so I can watch the final season of Big Love. So I called Cox (my cable company) about 20 minutes ago and as luck would have it they offered me 2 premium channels for $15.00 per month. (Usual price is $12.00 per channel.)

So I selected HBO and Starz. Not ever having Starz before, did I make the right decision OR should I change to Showtime? I asked the cable rep what the most popular combo is and he said "hands down", HBO & Starz.

What will I miss not having Showtime OR what will I love about Starz?

I would chose Starz, also, b/c they have the better movies. If I got the "on demand" version of Showtime, though, I'd go with them only b/c of Dexter

I have everything offered by Bright House. My cable bill is almost as much as my house payment! Lol!

It really doesn't matter which one you choose. You'll always see something you want to watch on the one you don't have. That being said, I tend to watch movies on Showtime more than the others. Of course, if I dropped the others, I would hate everything on Showtime. It's the nature of the beast!

I would pick Showtime b/c of Dexter and Californication. I laso like the new show Shameless. I think they are on Showtime but I could be wrong, lol. I tend to watch movies on demand and not when they are on so that's why I have HBO(True Blood!!!Boardwalk Empire!!) and Showtime

Showtime is secondary for movies so don't pick it if you're looking for movie selection. We like Starz a lot but I have Showtime also and watch Californication and Weeds.

I have HBO, Showtime, and Starz. If I could only choose two, I'd definitely drop Starz. I think the only thing I've watched on it was the Pillars of the Earth series. I love HBO and Showtime, though.

I would pick Starz. I have all movie channels and I do watch Starz over Showtime.

However since you are getting HBO for "Big Love" then perhaps you would like Showtime better because of the original series they have? I don't watch them. I tried, but I get bored with them.

The only cable series I watch is "True Blood" on HBO.

I did start scrolling through the movies on Starz and Spartacus looks awesome.

So last night we watched The Taking of Pelham 123 with Denzel/Travolta and it was great. I taped Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp and will watch it later.

I am still torn. I do love the movie selection on Starz but on Showtime, I have never seen Weeds, Californication, Dexter, The Big C, etc ... if I was to change to Showtime, will I have a clue whats going on with all those series?

I love showtime for their shows. LOVE Weeds and the Big C.


Occasionally they show the older episodes onDemand.

That is so true. Before I had Showtime, every movie I wanted to watch was on Showtime. Now that I have it (and HBO, Cinemax, Starz & Encore) I want to see everything thats on Epix. I just can't win
