DH and I just booked a VERY last minute trip and booked a standard POP room. We stayed there last year with our kids but this time it's just him and I. I started looking today (bad idea!) and realized that I can book FQ for only $300 more or CSR for $500 more. What would you do? Besides POP the only other place we've stayed is CBR. I'm concerned about the bus situation at each of the hotels. But I'm also looking for something a little more adult only friendly. Thoughts??? TIA!!

With FQ you also get the boat to DS plus you can walk up to Riverside . Bus transportation can be hit or miss at any resort. We have had good transportation during our visits to POFQ. The sharing with Riverside has gotten less each trip. Spending part of the day relaxing by the pool is part of our vacation. Staying at FQ we can also use Riverside pools.
Checkout www.portorleans.org for info on both the PO resorts.

I'm having the same dilemma! Hubs and I are going for an adult trip and are deciding between POP and CSR. It's only 250$ more for CSR but like you we stayed at CBR and did not enjoy the busses or amount of scooters there. We are worried with CSR if it will be the same. I'm anxious to hear the responses of people but I think ultimately it is going to be trial and success or error for both of us!!!

Oh and we stayed at POFQ and LOVED it!! it's just that is almost double the cost for us this time and I don't want to pat that much :-)

I don't foresee a lot of down time at the resort. That's why I'm not totally sold on upgrading!!

If it was just me and DH with no kids I would personally do POFQ. For me, the atmosphere and larger room there would be worth that price difference.

I've had bad experience with bus lines for Pop at the end of a theme park day, so I would personally upcharge to Coronado or POFQ. I have not stayed at POFQ, but I would like to. I have stayed at Coronado, but that might not be a great idea with all of the construction that will be going on there. So, overall, I would uncharge to POFQ if you decided to.

$300 more for how many nights?

I would love to try a moderate someday but when DH and I have our kidless Disney vacations, we usually end up getting a value. Especially when there is only two of us, we find that we don't really need the extra space, we tend not to spend a ton of time at the resort and we would rather spend the cost difference by adding extra days as well as on food, drinks and special events like MNSSHP.

- Always depends on the per night upgrade, is that for 2 nights or 5 nights?
- If you don't plan resort time ... then you lose a big perk of the moderates.
- Buses at CSR are nothing like they are at CBR.
- CSR is very adult like, many dining options and a couple lounge areas.
- CSR is a convention resort and seems many less children.
- POFQ has boat to DS which is nice.
- POFQ is very popular with young families due to footprint.
- $300-500, wow, there is a lot of fun waiting to happen.

My kids love Pop for the theme and I love the food court.
That being said, I absolutely loved my time at CSR and the kids loved the slide there....

POFQ for me, but I am not a fan of value and never a fan of full beds. But then again you will miss all my favorite parts of staying at POFQ if you don't spend any time there. I love to wake up early, morning and walk along the river. I love to walk along the river at night. I love to be the first one to get coffee in am and just sit by the river enjoying it. I love the boat ride to DS. I love to boat ride over to POR. I love the bus system, I have never had a problem with it at POFQ. I love the hot tub, not overly rowed because it is hidden from the pool, so also not over run by kids without parents watching. I love to just sit and soak my feet from the side. I love beignets. I love the carriage ride at night thru the cobble stone streets.

I have stayed at all 3, and liked them all. Pop was great for my solo trips, the buses can be a bit of a pain if you close the parks but you can always jump on the AoA bus if that seems shorter. I liked the food court there. My next solo trip I am going back to CSR because I plan to spend more time at the resort. The buses were very good from there also, and the resort is more scenic IMO. However, both $300 and $500 would be a big difference to me in price. The difference between CSR and Pop was only about $35 per night using the summer discount when I looked, which is worth it to me for a 4 night trip.

CSR has room service, when you're really tired, it can be a godsend. That would be the end of my decision.

If you have the money, DO IT! I just stayed at the Pop and did not like it at all. The entire resort smelled funny, like dirty chlorine pools. It was over crowded and there is construction noise in the morning. I'm never staying there again!

We stayed at POP (the whole family) last March and I didn't have any complaints. However, I know that they are doing refurbishments now. Ugh!!!

Warning once you do a moderate resort you may not be able to go back to a value and trust me this is a slippery slope up. $$$
That said POFQ all the way.

My pick would be CSR. I love the theming. Walking around the lake is a great way to start the day. I've never found the buses to be overly crowded. I stayed at POFQ once but I didn't care for the Mardi Gras theme at all. The buildings seemed a little too close to each other. The only plus that POFQ has, in my opinion, is the boat to Disney Springs.
