What would we all be doing if.........

How would your life be different if there was never DVC?

  • Still visit WDW the same amount in comparable cost and size accomodations(best as can be compared)

  • visit WDW less

  • visit WDW hardly ever

  • no big deal-I didn't buy to stay primarily at WDW anyways

  • find me a bridge-just the thought of it make me want to end it

  • my immediate family memories would be figments

  • my friends and other family memories would be figments

  • no big deal-sorry I bought- the experience has been less than expected

there were no DVC? I know, can't even imagine it but, let's just say it never existed, how would your life be changed?

We would not be going 2-4 times a year. Probably 1-2 times a year. Probably more cruises, Disney or other. Probably be visiting other areas of Florida and the southern coast line.

*****Can vote for more than one choice******

You need to add another answer,

Still visit WDW the just as often but in smaller accommodations (normal hotel room or suite)

That's what we'd be doing. :)

I'm with MikeSquared. We'd probably at least visit once or twice a year still but in eitehr values or moderates, maybe a deluxe, but like WL or AKL every once in awhiel with a discount code.

As a Florida Resident. I always have gotten pretty good discount on motel rooms. But wow the accomodations have certainly changed this year since we have become members.
Sure is a nice feeling knowing when you go back to your room it is roomy and wonderful. I love it.

We were planning on every other year before DVC. Now we go every year, and for more days than before. So definitely, we go more often and for longer stays.

Survey says.....go to WDW less often! :(

I voted "visit WDW less", as we would have been visiting every eight months instead of every six.

If you figure the dinero, it may come out pretty close. This is only because DVC is a great deal compared to deluxe resorts.

My senario is not on the poll! I would still visit Disney just as often, but we would be staying some in an off grounds timeshare (my parents own a lot of timeshare) and other trips would be at the All Stars or a moderate occasionally. We had never stayed at a deluxe resort until we owned DVC and we were off grounds about as much as we were on grounds.
Thank goodness we now are able to enjoy our wonderful DVC rooms!

Go less often.

I bought into DVC to make sure we had a major vacation every year. Without DVC we'd probably go every 2-3 years.

Of course, we'd stay are WL. Some things will never change. :p

I voted for the first one, but was thinking just this. I would probably not have quit my job at TDS (to keep the bennies) and would be staying in one room.

The thought of no DVC gives me "hives"!!!!!

We bought because of all the time we spend at WDW. We have stayed at almost every resort on property. The trips would continue, but they would be different. DVC is more than a prepaid vacation, its a community.

Probably the biggest thing that would be different for us is that we might never have discovered Hilton Head!! We tried it in 1996, the year the resort opened, and immediately fell in love. We hope to retire there some day. (Unfortunately, I don't think they'll let us retire at DHHIR, but some place in the general vicinity, LOL!)

We would visit as often but stay at All Stars and Pop Century and Coronado and Caribean Beach more often than not

Probably would have purchased into some other Orlando area timeshares.

Would be no more time at Disney resorts, less time at parks and Disney restaurants, and more time at other Orlando attractions and restaurants.

Same here, and we absolutely love it!
As far as WDW is concerned, I didn't vote because you didn't offer the choice of what we would do. Yes, we would probably visit WDW just as often as we do since we joined. However, we wouldn't stay in comparable, delux accomodations. We'd continue to stay in the type of accomodations we did before we joined, Moderates. One big reason we joined was that it allowed us to stay in much nicer accomodations without shelling out a lot more money. Before DVC we'd never stayed in the deluxes except the one time displaced from POR. Then, AKL was quite fortunately offered at a bargain.

I didn't vote b/c we'd still probably go the same amount of times in a year - twice, but we wouldn't be staying in a one-bedroom villa. We'd probably be staying in a normal hotel room with staying sometimes in a deluxe and other times in a moderate.

We would visit less often but since we are now owners it's a good excuse to use some of the 10 weeks vacation I still have from prior years! Annmarie

Sorry but I cannot update to add the option everyone is requesting. I intended for option #1 to be made for that, thinking that those who stayed in moderates(there were no all stars until recently) were probably the ones in studios now and those who were affording the deluxe resorts and home away from home resorts were spending more money for DVC and extra points which in turn equates to about the same.

We would definately be travelling to WDW less without DVC. Couldn't afford the on site acommodations any other way this often.

Instead of going once or twice a year with DVC, we would be going every 2 to 3 years and then hardly ever when our children are teens.

BK (before kids) probably the same 1x a year nice accomodations
AK (after kids) every other year BTW how are the all star resorts:p
