I'm new here and I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'd love to know. We have and probably always will go to Disney on a budget, but we usually splurge on something special each time, so it would be fun to get some ideas.
We're not into spa stuff or extremely fancy meals so here's my simple ideal trip which isn't completely out of reach if we were to spread things out over a bunch of trips and years. Also, some are just a matter of having time, such as getting 3 yr old ds a pixie dust haircut in MK.
Rent a loaded Lincoln Navigator with a DVD player to drive down in. (Flying from Atlanta takes almost as long as driving.)
I'd love to go during the different times of the year so that we could stay at the Wilderness Lodge in the Fall, The Boardwalk Inn in the Spring, Port Orleans French Quarter in the Summer for the Dragon slide for ds and Animal Kingdom Lodge with a view in the Winter when the animals are active, (all during low attendance times, of course, lol). Also, I'd have to add the Contemporary for a night so that we'd have the experience of having a view of the castle from our room.
Park hopper passes, so I could finally see Epcot. We always have to chose 1 or 2 parks, and I can't seem to give up one of the other three, plus we're not sure if we'd like a water park, so it would be nice to be able to check one out and not feel like we have to stay all day to get our money's worth.
Hoop-dee-do, a fireworks cruise, and a hotair balloon ride if they're available.
Try California Grill, Bomas, Whispering Canyon, Flying Fish, Shulas, Donalds Breakfasaurus, Chef Mickey's, 50's Prime Time, Sci Fi Dine In Theater, Rose & Crown, heck, I'd like to try all of Epcot's table service restaurants, lol, Fultons, and Bongos.
I'd buy every character picture with ds, lots of Disney Christmas ornaments, maybe some tasteful dinnerwear and glasswear, a nice watch or some earrings, a few clothing items and Mickey ears.
I'd also buy little toys or treats to hand out to cranky kids. If I heard someone in a gift shop tell their child they can't afford something, I'd buy it and slip it into their stroller.
I'd also love to be able to pay for our parents to stay wherever they wanted and eat and do whatever they wanted (as long as they promised to babysit one night), lol.
Maybe, I should print this out and make a check list...wonder how far I'd get, lol.
I can't wait to hear all of yours.
