There are 4 of us, 2 of which are young kids. Just trying to do some food budgeting. What would be a safe amount to budget for dinner at Cali Grill? Out of pocket. Figure we will probably do sushi and an entree, glass of wine and dessert...and then kids meal for each kid and dessert. Thanks!

In my honest opinion, Cali Grill wasn't worth it OOP. I thought it was overpriced and the food was very disappointing(cold dishes, lacked flavor and the sushi was mostly rice very little fish in the rolls). I would recommend Narcoossee's for a nice meal and wolfgang puck for sushi. Both were 100 times better. Going back to both in January.

Allears.net has menus and prices. Desserts and flatbreads $12/13, cheeseboard $20, sushi $21-$28, soup/salad $11-$18, entrees $28-$44.
Kids salad/desert $5, entrees $8-$13. Can't help you with the wine price, but I'd budget $200 for the meal when you add tip.

DS18 and I experienced Cali Grill in May 2010...

We had the Yoshi platter, Snake in the Grass and Malibu Roll... and 2 drinks...

Our Total (with tip) was $105.93...

We enjoyed the sushi and the view.... WHen I go back... I will try the Kazan Roll and an entree...

Hope that helps !

Hugs,
Mary

PS: I HAVE Pictures of our rolls if you would like to see them...

My boyfriend and I visited the California Grill earlier this month. We split a Spicy Kazan roll, then we each had an appetizer and a flatbread as our entrée. With our meal we each had two drinks, one of which was a glass of wine. After dinner, we shared a dessert and an amaretto. Our total tab with tax (but before tip) was $153.36. I know that it's very different than the meal you plan to have there, but thought I'd offer another perspective anyway.

Love the cali grill, so worth the money. The menu prices on allears are pretty accurate. But sushi is around $20-25, entrees $30-45. I think desserts are $8-12.
We just went - had a flat bread, sushi app, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, 1 coffee, 1 soda & 1 martini - it was $145 before tip.

It is best to look at the prices on the menus and then add a bit more...inflation. But it will give you a better guess as to what you should expect.

Thanks everyone, and thanks for posting the bill amounts...that helps give me an idea.

We use TIW so my total will have a 20% discount and an 18% tip added on.

Usually my total is somewhere around $268-295 for a family of four. Wine can get pricey here, but so worth it. I belive my experience is with 2 children's meals.

Last summer it was with one child who ordered off the adult menu, and I'm pretty certain it was 1 flatbread, one order of sushi, 3 entrees and two desserts as well as 2 glasses of wine for about $240.

Wow. Pricey. But will be our last nights dinner and i think (hope) it will be worth it. Thanks again for the info!
