I was at a restuarant last night and we had a bottle of Trellis Chardnoney form Sonoma.. YUMMY... very dry not fruity and wonderful....

The closest thing to wine that I had this year is Cheerwine---a NC based cherry soda.:D

In previous years, I liked the white wines from Austrailia. I prefer champagne or sparkling wine if I indulge on special occasions.

I like sodas and water more than beer or wine.

We have 2 batches that we've made.....a lovely white zinfandel and a nice dry red.:D

speaking of Austrilian wines.. I was at the wine store today and they recommended a wine - a shirez by magpie estates called schnell!.. wanna come over next weekend and we can try it???

I'm having a glass of red Cotes du Rhone right now.

Merlot!

I won't be drinking alcohol for a few months ( ;) ), but I love Austrailan chardonnays.

It's a kind of powerful wine from the south of France. It's about $10 per bottle. It's a pretty good bottle of wine for that price. A lot of vineyards make it, but I'm partial to Guigal.

I've sipped all kinds over the years and, by far, my favorites are the white wines from Biltmore House. :drinking1

Our favorite right now is from Chile.....Fronterra, Conha y Toro Chardonnay. It is a really inexpensive wine, about 8.99 for a large bottle, but has a really light and slightly fruity taste. We were introduced to it at our favorite restaurant and were very surprised when we found it at our local wine store so inexpensively. It was even featured on CBS Sunday morning one week as one of the best chardonnays for the money. Try it, you might like it !

We've tried all three but currently the Elysium is my favorite!
a bit pricey but worth every penny, heaven in a bottle!

Copied from the site North American Wines:

Andrew Quady is the pre-eminent dessert wine producer in California at present. He had worked for several of the large Central Valley wine companies, producing many Californian `Port` style wines as well as dessert wines, before launching his own winery at Madera in the Cental Valley region in 1981.
His two best wines are Essencia, which is made from Orange Muscat (named because the grapes have an orange-like aroma), and Elysium, which is made from Black Muscat.

Our current favorite is Gewurtztraminer, which I cannot pronounce, much less spell. We got some at the German food and wine festival last year, and brought several bottles home. Unfortunately, there is a huge difference from one Gewurtztraminer to another, both in tatse and in price. Guess I will have to go back to EPVOTT to be sure :)

Me too. Lots of people think I don't drink because 99% of the time I'd rather have a soda or iced tea. Other people bring wine to a party to drink - I often bring a jug of iced tea. That was in CA - here in Arkansas iced tea is usually available without having to bring your own.

I did enjoy the red wines of Australia when I was going there on business a lot in the 90s.

I might drink more often if I didn't have to drive, but I won't have anything alcoholic to drink if I am driving.
