We are renting points in October (thank you Gary K.D.) for a VWL studio. We have actually talked about buying into the DVC for years, but just haven't been convinced yet.

Will this stay put us over that edge?

What will we love about our VWL studio?

Thanks!

We will also be there in Oct. 21st on, the villas are so quiet and tucked away from everything, we are taking my brother and his girl friend with us, his first time there, our 30th,bought WLV Dec. 200, waiting for papers on BCV- have fun

We will be their the same time as well. The best part for us is walking the trail over to Ft. Wilderness in the morning and bringing the boat back to the Contemporary for video games.
The trail is very peaceful and we have seen everything from armadillos to deer to snakes on it. We own at both VWL and Boardwalk and alternate years. I wish you a great vacation.

Hopefully, everything. I hope that you are the lake side and can see the Electrical Light Parade from your balcony. Our little ones loved it. That is how our oldest refers to VWL.

the thing that *really* sold us on DVC was not the studios. Don't get me wrong, DVC Studio villas are nicer than almost *any* hotel room I've ever been in. But take the DVC tour while you're there, which will give you the opportunity to check out the 1 and 2 bedroom villas. Now THOSE are what *really* sold us on DVC. Huge whirlpool garden tub, washer/dryer, full kitchen, Kingsize bed in the master bedroom - it is a common saying around here that once you've stayed in a 1 bedroom or higher, it's hard to go back. I *definitely* think you will LOVE your VWL studio - like I said they're much nicer than any hotel room we'd ever been in. But definitely go on the DVC tour - it's completely NO pressure, just informative, but it's great!

I kind of smile and very much respect the viewpoint when I read a post about the studios at a DVC resort. I understand what is meant by the splendour of the 1/2 bedrooms over what a studio brings to the party. But for our little family of 4, the studios are perfect for our stays at WDW. Sure the 1/2 bedrooms are fantastic and much better than "a hotel room" like studio. But the bang that you get for your points at WDW makes the studios a great deal.

No question, the DVC studios are an unbelievable value, points wise, and allow you to stretch the most possible days out of your pool of points. I didn't mean to be dissing the studios in any way. In her opening post of the thread, though, she'd been asking if the VWL studio was going to be the thing that 'pushed them over the edge' to purchase DVC. A VWL studio is *definitely* nicer than the ungodly expensive room we had at the GF on the trip that we found out about DVC. I just think that the studio alone might not be enough to convince her and her family, but that the DVC tour probably would.
