I haven't seen my mother since christmas or 1 month prior to starting SBD
I've lost 26+plus pounds and many many inches
I was a 26-28 prior to eating healthier
I crammed my butt into a size 20 capri pants today
I could button them but would not be comfortable to breathe in them. The 22's fit everywhere but tummy was tight another 10 lbs to be comfortable in them maybe

okay she'll notice but will she say anything nice
she can be one to say some not so nice things at times
a real perfectionist like Martha Stewartish
I am hoping she doesn't try to sabatoge this for me and is supportive

**** my parents were here for three days and they never once mentioned my weight loss. my FIL told her he was doing
lC and she managed to tell me he shouldn't cause it will kill him because Dr Atkins died from a heart attack!!!

She brought 4 different kinds of homemade cookies. I have many LC products in the house and she must have seen them. But they never made a comment. Funny thing is FIL is on SBD not Atkins but she doesn't even attempt to understand any of this.
I had to hear all weekend how my not really overweight father (5'10 & 195 lbs) lost 10 lbs because he had food poisoning and pneumonia. How he has just lost so much weight his pants don't fit, etc. Not one comment all weekend.

I am hurt but not allowing it to ruin my mental attitude. I will do this for me. I probably will not see them again until Memorial day or June so it will be another 6-8 weeks until I see them again. I should be a size 20-22 by then and have lost another 10-15 lbs and let them ignore that too.

I haven't weighed this weight in 9 years. Yeah for me.:smooth:

 I'm sure your mother will be pleased at what you are doing. Not only that you have lost but that you are improving your health!!:D

It can make us feel badly when other make not so nice comments, though. I think we Moms can do that sometimes without even meaning to hurt. The bottom line, though, is that it really doesn't matter what anyone thinks or says. No one can sabotage you unless you allow it to happen! You are doing something super for yourself and you are quite successful at it! :Pinkbounc :bounce: Be proud of yourself!! I know I am proud of you!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I understand exactly how youre feeling. My mother likes to sabotage things for me. But with my weight issue I have to do what I know is right for me. I take the doctors advice, not my mothers.
At Christmas I remember my younger brother asking right out of the blue "where did you go?" It took me a min to realize what he was talking about. He hadnt seen me since our older brother's heart attack last May and since then I had lost another 16lbs and was at goal. He meant it as a compliment.
Good luck and dont worry about your mom. Perhaps she's jealous that you are doing something good for yourself?

I think that quite often *nasty* or *spiteful* sounding comments are made unintentionally. And, it's been my experience, they are usually said by someone who (for whatever reason) isn't completely happy with themselves. To see someone else who is successful and happy (and yes, proud) makes them feel even *lower*.....so in an effort to make themselves feel better - they try to knock you down a peg! Just brace yourself, and realize that it's HER issue, not yours. (I know, easier said than done sometimes!) But, YOU are doing GREAT!

She can be the worst when it comes to my weight
I know she doesn't like the fact that I'm obese
She just can't understand why I don't stop eating
She luckily for her has no weight issues
5'9" and 135-140lbs
she looks good for a woman pushing 60
I am losing the weight and getting healthy for me
yes it is for my husband and kids in the long run because I want to be around for a long time for them too
but I'm doing this for me to feel good about me

I'm just not in the mood to deal with any issues she will cause
My in laws know and don't really say to much other than I look great. They have said my hard work is paying off and I should make DH follow along too.

I don't think she is coming until Friday but I'm just bracing myself
I love my mother very much but she can be difficult to say the least

I know how you feel.... my grandmother is like that, even though i am dieting she still drills me about food and what not.........at some point i just want to say........look at me , im 28 lbs lighter and im working out and eating right please dont talk down to me.......but i love her so i just roll my eyes and smile.!!!! Youre doing great!!!princess:

First let me start by giving you a big hug.
I'm sure your mom loves you and will be glad you're doing something healthy for yourself. But even if she doesn't: try to remember it's not about her, it's about you. And you are doing an amazing job. You've changed your lifestyle and have lost 26 lbs. That's no small feat!!
I know people can be difficult. Sometimes I think that they believe they are trying to help and don't realize what they say is hurtful and that we've said the same things to ourselves hundreds of times. I have a grandma who has made hurtful comments to me in the past and it's made me shy away from her. I think she's one of those who thinks they're trying to help. The thing is I love her and I know she loves me and I've just had to learn to accept her and hope she accepts me. We can't control what people say to us, but we can control how we react to their comments. I would rather brush it off and act with love.
I hope eveything goes well with you and your mom.

Your mother will be absolutely thrilled for your success, I'm sure of it.

Even if she isn't, all of your WISH friends are just so proud of you for the progress you've made. Always remember that!

Good for you, luv2nascar! I love that determination and positive attitude!

And if your mom gets to you while she is here, and if you have a few free minutes, post here on WISH! Knowing you have a lot of friends cheering you on helps so much when you have the stress of dealing with a difficult situation. :D
