What will make you return to the parks?

Posting because I see many people saying they won't return to the parks until there's a vaccine and while I respect that decision, I really hope Disney will not wait that long. Assuming they do open pre-vaccine, I will return once Epcot is open and mostly operational (I understand that some attractions/food places might be closed). That's it. I trust Disney to take precautions and I accept responsibility for taking my own precautions.

With my 2 kids @15 &18, I’m afraid our Disney trips are done for maybe ever. Any amusement park is going to be a giant cesspool of Covid regardless of efforts put in place. Until we have viable meds to treat and a proven vaccine, we will not return.

As soon as they open. We will continue to learn more about this virus, get better treatments, understand the additional precautions to take. If you look at the data, the risk to those under 65 with no comorbidity, is actually not much different from other strains of flu. Those at greater risk should avoid Disney and all other areas where people congregate. But, for those of us at low risk, it's a risk I am willing to take.

And since I'd like it to be as "normal" as possible I'm forgoing one of my trips this year because the way its going I don't think it will be all that normal by August.

We previously had a trip planned January '21 and hope this virus is under control by then.
As long as we can, we will go. Even if some experiences at WDW are changed, we will go.

Right now I see it going 2 ways-
We get control with treatments and prevention by next winter.
We do not and a second wave needs attention next winter, in that case we probably won't be going.

? Maybe 75% chance of us being able to go by then? *fingers crossed*

I literally miss Disney being open.
My March trip was canceled, have a June trip planned, and if Disney is open, and we can get down there from Iowa, we will be there.
We also have a back up for August, and then returning next March for my 50th Bday!
I never get a flu shot, and in all of my almost 50 years I have had it 1 time. (knocking on wood, lol)

I’ll go when open. We have a trip booked for December 27. I do assume some changes will be made. I gotta think they are looking at ways to have less people in parks for a while. Especially for night time shows and lines. I won’t be eating any buffets. Any chance they limit guests only to pass holders and Disney hotel guests for a while?
Would that Lower attendance ?

We just went last summer and weren't planning a trip this year, but it'll be a long time before I get on a plane again. I've always looked at theme parks as germ central though, so I was overwashing my hands well before this virus.

We are hoping to be there in September. My wife is a Pulnomary ICU nurse practitioner so she gets to make the call . We also have a June trip planned but she’s that ones a no go.

We are AP and DVC and can drive, so I have no issue with the “reduced” Disney people keep mentioning. I guess I get it if you are spending thousands on a trip you only do every few years but we are in the parks 2-3 weeks each year. Hopefully the crowds will be tiny during this time.

It being open is all I need. I don't care what is reduced/changed/not there, I'm happy with it just being open. That being said, I probably won't go until around Sept. just because there will be other trips that need/want to take before then. We will need/have to go down to south Ga. to see my honey's parents as soon as it's safe. Neither are well and he knows it's borrowed time so any chance we get, we haul the RV down there and camp in their yard. After that, I NEED a trip to the beach, again we will haul the RV to one, water just makes me happy and relaxed. A dive trip would be heaven but alas, I fear those days are over since we have a dog that can't be boarded and even in the RV can't be left alone for longer than 3 or 4 hours. Then WDW here I come, either solo or with my son.

If mom and I go, we are just looking for a relaxing trip. For us that would be just doing a table service or 2 a day, finding places to sit and people watch, snacking, shopping and taking photos and just enjoying being there. Our preference for “rides” is low wait stuff like Carousel of Progress or Tiki Room. Now if dad joins us, that will be different. He will also want universal because he has been missing Forbidden Journey and kicking himself for not trying Hulk. It isn’t as easy for him to travel as he works at a small company. The boss is gone almost every weekend on trips and his son (2nd in command) is gone during school vacays with kids and the weekends #1 isn’t. So that leaves my dad and uncle to run the business and get random days here and there as vacay.

We just went last December and had planned on a trip in October '21, with a DCL cruise booked for this October. I expect the cruise to be cancelled, and I'm hoping that the vaccine will be available at least one month before our '21 WDW trip. If it isn't available by then, we won't go.

For me, there are a lot of things that we are exposed to that have no vaccination. We do all we can and then hope that either biology or good fortune works in our favor. That doesn't mean to jump out in front of a moving train and hope it goes well, but living from a place of fear is extremely unhealthy. We'll just have to see what the future holds and respond appropriately. I don't think we have some of the information we need to make informed decisions. But.....if there's anything I've got right now, it's time. Blessings to all!
