I know that no one knows for sure, but, I was just sitting here thinking.....

Monster code expires at the beginning of July, and it is only booking for the end of the year. The new rates don't come out until August for next year...so, does that mean the next "pin" will be for booking for through some times next year....

I hope so! I would love to get a pin for when I travel to the Princess 1/2.

I'm thinking general discount code thru 24 Dec (soon, and skipping Thanksgiving and 1st week of Dec), then FD extended to second week of Dec (skipping Thanksgiving and the 1st week of Dec, of course) and then the Holiday room-only discount pin (Dec 25 - Dec 30) followed by another buy 4, get 3 free offer for Jan 2011 thru Mar 2011.

The recent version of the Monster pin blocks out those dates. That's Pop Warner football and Cheerleading competition week this year, and I figure they just don't need to discount to fill mods and deluxes, since the values will be full of teenaged hormone dispensers and their chaperones.

The Monster pin expires 10 Jul, so I figure if bookings aren't where they want them to be, we will see the next big deal hitting the mail and email around the end of July.

This is just a WAG, of course, and Mr. Iger might have meant it when he said they're not going to discount as much as in the past two years. But then again, this is the second year with deep discounts right up to the holidays, and last year I had a pin for Christmas in a Deluxe at 30% off...

I don't think anyone has a clue about how 2011 is going to go.

They are going to look at a few factors; is the euro going to recover, so more people overseas will come back again; is the US economy coming back yet; how will the gulf issues effect travel to that area; and what is the impact of the Harry Potter opening at Universal?

The bottom line is can they stop so many discounts, and satisfy the stockholders at the same time, as well as keep up their performance and customer service. Only time will tell.

I am hoping they dont block out fd for the first week of December. We are booked from the 2-9th. That would stink. This would be the second time then that I wouldnt have been able to use a promotion. The last time we went in Jan 09, I got ripped out of the 4/3 deal. I am currently booked with a 20% value pin. I couldnt use the 40% monster pin, got 4 of those. Wasnt good for our dates. Come on Disney......Free Dining!!!!

We had FD for Thanksgiving last year and hoping for the same this year!!! I'm generally not big on WDW food but FD made it fun.

I think the people who had the pins for FD in December didn't have any black out dates for Thanksgiving or the first week of December. I would think the public would have the same dates.

We had FD (thru Disney visa) in '09 we checked in on Thanksgiving day and stayed thru Dec 4, nothing was blacked out for us.
