What are thoughts on reopening?
will Parks open first ?
resorts before no.parks?
DVD first open?
or all.at.same time?

I think that HHI, VB, and perhaps Aulani (if you can get there) would be good candidates to open first...

HH and VB make sense given those state's take on reopening ... Aulani less so.

Getting there is going to be difficult for awhile ... college students trying to go home this month from the mainland are having difficulty getting to the islands since the flights going there are so few and don't connect.

My son is homeschooling over there with family, we have scheduled flights and bought tickets for him to come home to California 3 times since this started and watched them be cancelled every time as the 14 day mandatory quarantine is extended. No airline wants to run empty flights at a loss.

Hawaii really wants to keep the tourists/viruses out as the medical system is not robust when there isn't a pandemic, much less when there is.

I expect to see Disney Springs open first.
Then some of the resorts (guessing DVC and deluxe first - only as there is good money for duluxe resorts) and 1-2 parks open with significant restrictions on park attendance.
I think it will be another month or 2 before you see all resorts open and all parks.

This is pure speculation but I think parks will have soft openings for CMs and their families to test the social distancing measures. Resorts will open at the same time as the parks, but perhaps not all resorts at once to concentrate transportation resources and the frontline resort CMs. Guests who have reservations at an unopened resort will be pixie dusted with an upgrade to an open resort. DVC resorts will likely be opened in the first phase with unreserved villas being used for these upgrades.

Park opening will be phased in similar to a reversal of the order in which park closures occur during peak times like Christmas and New Years. Why? Because Disney already has that system in place. We are currently in Phase 4, where no arriving guests are admitted. Phase 3 allows onsite guests, AP holders and those with dining reservations or appointments (think BBB, etc) to enter. Re-opening to more guests will continue to phase in by working backward thru those phases.

Just my thoughts. Certainly not based on any insider information.

Lots of musings pointing to DTD 1st, then the monorail resorts. Going to guess one of my homes WL ( that was purchased as it was “the DVC” MK resort) wouldn’t qualify.

Monorail resorts would make sense because they all have a large component of cash hotel rooms—which will be mostly empty—to offset the DVC villas which will draw higher numbers.

Opening Riviera, Saratoga or Old Key West early would be a poor decision, in my opinion. They’d risk having 300-400 rooms filled from Day One with inadequate amenities to keep everyone entertained.

I think the parks and resorts will open at the same time. They go hand in hand.. a lot of travelers aren’t going to be paying hundreds of dollars a night to stay at a Disney Resort if they cannot go to the parks. DVC is a different animal and those may open sooner as a lot of DVC members know how to enjoy a trip to Disney that doesn’t include visiting the parks.

I just think that Disney is asking for a legal headache if the DVC resorts are not opened at the same time as, if not before, any Park or other Resort of that particular Property (WDW/DLR). While I could see them possibly opening the Dinning/Shopping districts first, I think that the DVC resorts would still have to quickly follow (less than a week).

Our split stay of poly/Wl starts June 7. Ours is mainly a resort only stay anyway. I keep holding on to hope, but with Disney Springs not opening for another couple of weeks I’m really nervous now. Is it even possible for the resorts to open two weeks later? All of Springs won’t even be open in the beginning.

I don’t think it is a given that the resorts cant open until at least 2 weeks after Disney Springs.

Given that we are still 12 days away from May 20th, those other Disney owned venues could end up being open too.

Same with resorts,,,They could announce next week a resort opening date, especially given the new info on WDW sits about limitations when things do open.

By next Thursday, the day they have been adjusting park hours, will be a big bit of info because it would include early June.

I still think DVC resorts will be opening up pretty close to a June 1st.

Hadn’t caught that Thursday was the typical day. Are we talking once a month or weekly?

Need to commit to or cancel/bank points in time (end of May) for our early August trip. Was hoping they’d open DTD earlier to see how things panned out in 14 day typical incubation period., darn it.

It has been happening each week. So, if it holds true next Thursday it should update and take out park hours for first week in June if they won’t be open.

I am going to check daily though in case it changes!!

They should be able to see those numbers even without DTD being open. Other places are open. I think they held off opening so they can increase the amount of people inside from the 25% they're allowed now. By the time DTD opens they should be able to open at 50% if they want.
