What will be considered relatives to not qualify?

As we prepare for our March trip I told DH we may not even be eligible for any of the Dreams. DH's neice's husband works(or at least did last we heard) at WDW in landscaping. They are not a very close family and I don't even remember his name. Anyone know if that is related enough to be ineligible for any prizes?

It might make you ineligible for the big prizes, but I personally think the little things were the best. Of course I didn't win a big prize, but when you go there and look at all of the people, it doesn't seem highly likely you will be a big prize winner.

I'm not being bitter about it, I know some people on the board sound that way. We got the YOMD ears, and we were thrilled with that prize. But things like family of the day and the stay at Cincerella's suite, I would think would go to a more traditional family, and it was just my DM, DD2 and I. I think a family with a couple of older kids would enjoy it more anyway.

Of course luck with have it that you would win the prize and be ineligible.

Hi! We're going in March too for our first trip with our 3 yo.
I have been lurking here and love all of the stories about the YOMD but have been sad because I thought we were ineligible because my aunt works there so I just read the rules.
It is only immediate family members.

persons who on or after May 1, 2006 were or are on-site directors, officers or employees of any commercial establishment at the Disney Properties (as hereinafter defined); and (c) persons who are immediate family members (defined as spouse, or biological, adoptive or step- mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son or any dependent under applicable income tax law) of any person in any of the preceding categories, regardless of where they live, or who reside in the same household, whether an immediate family member or not, as any person in any of the preceding categories.
