What were your thoughts on this weekends ride-a-thon

I think the problem with the VMK Pass created a secondary problem with wait times. If you take a pass you have to pay attention to the game our you lose your place. With the pass not working I think more people were getting in line and not paying attention to those accounts. Every time I went into a start room there were a pile of people at the entry points and one or two actually on the ride. All the zombies loitering in doorways had to be slowing the lines down.

I found the biggest pile ups were in the Blizzard Beach rooms. Even paying attention I sometimes found it a challenge to click and get on the ride. But I did get to view the pins a lot of peeps were wearing :rotfl: :rotfl:

I give the ride-a-thon a big :thumbsup2. Love the free of course, but also loved seeing all the wonderful rooms:love: Great job VMK.

Almost forgot about that.

That Holiday Skull Rock room is the tackiest thing I have EVER seen VMK do.

I HAVE TO HAVE IT :rotfl:

I liked the tacky room, gives me a place to put my christmas pirates of the helm. He won't feel so out of place there

Thanks for the free "good.he's" and the beautiful rooms to learn from for building! (And of course, thanks for the hot chocolate during breaktime! :lmao: )

Seriously, thanks for the free stuff - always nice!

Oh yes! First WinterWonderland, then Christmas Haunted Mansion; now maybe Holiday Skull Rock ? huh VMk? please? :goodvibes

I had holiday company this weekend, so I thought it would be rude of me to send the entire weekend on VMK.

I had the pass problem everytime I did log on though. My goal was to get a dozen of each item and I fell short every day. Oh well...

Better start playing Mansion.

I'm glad vmk gave us a ride-a-thon, it sure saved me some credits. However I didn't like the fact that it was such short notice. Because of the time difference I miss announcements like when we used to get the Monday newsletter, the first time I would see it would be on a Tuesday. Therefore when they announced the ride-a-thon I was asleep so I missed out on knowing it was on. On the Saturday I found out, but I had barely anytime to get any items (mainly because of the problems with the vmk pass and the problems with the teleporters). But I was very happy that vmk was giving out the same prize as the previous day so I didn't really feel like I'd missed anything

Regardless, I still am happy that I got some things for christmas :)

However I think it would have been better if they had the ride-a-thon on the fantasyland rides as we would have been able to get more things quicker but it would be annoying for people who are broke right now lol.

I hope the stuff is on sale in the emporium soon just so we can get a few extra of the items.

I think the reason why the ride-a-thon was short notice is because maybe vmk didn't realise how little time there is left before Christmas and they probably also wanted to get these items out before the gingerbread house competition :)

To end on a high note, I would like to thank vmk for the ride-a-thon and all the rooms were AMAZING! Great job :thumbsup2

My only complaint was that I was on playing Friday afternoon, but had no idea about the ride-a-thon change, so I missed Friday completely. Fortuently they made up for that by having the same piece available all weekend, so it's not a huge complaint. ;) I love free stuff, and I love how the ride-a-thons are set up now, so I was very glad for it.

aengus,
It's the cloning during these events that bothers me. It's what makes the lines so incredibly long. When one player has four accounts on at the same time, it's not very fair. Also, those who leave these clones AFK clog up the lines in the start rooms. I rode in the same room the entire time and noticed players in the exact same spot 20 minutes later.

The prizes are great! These items are well done and "free" is always appreciated.:)

I would give this an A (not plus.)

The not plus is just because the VMK pass was never fixed, and that was the time I needed it most. But I really enjoyed the prizes, and getting to preview the gifts and Skull Rock holiday room. Also, I was able to get enough gingerbread blocks to build an entire Gingerbread Burrito! :thumbsup2 That was a dream come true for me.

It definitely gets an A from me :thumbsup2 I absolutely  all the freebies, seeing some of the new things to come (hopefully), and one thing that nobody mentioned was that they continued the ride-a-thon until closing :woohoo: That gave us an extra 2 hours of riding, so with that I say: :thanks: VMK :yay: :yay:

:tigger:

If I must grade it, I give it a B+ for the following reasons:

Pros:
- free items (getting 2 items on some days made it twice as nice)
- loved the different rooms (especially the Mickey & Donald gifts...I want them)!!!
- Hosts did ride & monitor. I saw several of them riding & getting right back in line.
- VMK did NOT shut down completely (they shut down the rides VERY briefly to fix something & I think they had it back up & running pretty quickly).

Cons:
- VMK Pass...having to log in after every time bc you crash got annoying.
- Too many mules just standing around & blocking others from entering.
- If you can't get on for one of the days (since different items were given Sat/Sun), you're stuck trading everything you own if there is an item you want.
- Short notice, but surprizes can be nice.

Overall, I really enjoyed it & think VMK did a great job with this event!!

I didn't even know they were doing a ride-a-ton this weekend.
I didn't get into the game until 8:30 on Friday and it was half over so I didn't get much. Then on Saturday my sister and her family came from Alabama to vist so I didn't get much of that prize either.

I wish they had annoucement it earlier.

I will admit my clones were out. We know I wasnt alone, like you said we could see them at the door. With lines that long, its going to happen for sure. I just wish they were being watched better so I do feel your pain.

My mules were well behaved, they were in front of me the whole time and never sat at an entrance for more than a few seconds. I would give them up gladly if everyone else did, but you saw that isnt going to happen.

I totally hear where you are coming from tho.
