What welcome gift did you get from Loews?

Hi! What welcome gift did you all get from Lowes? Can you tell me a little about them. Also, kids are suppose to get something , do you know what it is?

We were at HRH last month and we received an inflatable guitar for each kid and one CD at check in, then we were asked what we wanted sent to our room (cookies & milk or beer & nuts and a couple more choices like those).... then when we got to our room later that night we found a ying yang neclace on the pillow.... nice little *extras* I thought !

We stayed at HRH in Nov 2003. We asked for the water/fruit gift. Two bottles of water, apples, oranges, and bananas on a plate.

A really nice bottle of white wine and 2 glasses, and a coconut filled with nuts . why they thought I would share the wine with DH I dont know I kep the coconut as a souvenir.

We have had the fruit and water a few times. Once we received 3 bottles of Fiji water and several tropical fruits. Two times we received apples, oranges, grapes and a big glass bottle of Evian. One time we got the beer and nuts...basket of assorted nuts and 3 bottles of Heineken.

White wine (a very nice Pinot Grigio) and nuts.

Last June I wasn't impressed. We were in the Club lounge at HRH when they came in with a couple of plates and ice buckets. Grabbed 1 each - banana, apple, orange and a few grapes and put on each plate. Put 3 water bottles from the lounge into the bucket and went to our room with one and another down the hall with the other. This was our welcome gift. UGH!! Needless to say I was not impressed. Will definitely try something else this next time.

When I got the APH rate at the HRH for our stay this coming weekend, the reservation person said because we were getting the APH rate we are not eligible for the Lowes amenities such as welcome gift and newspaper--is that true?

No gift, not the room I had requested by fax and not even the type of room I paid for (King, Water view), instead I got 2 queens and street view. Oh well, they fixed it the next day. Never did get a welcome gift, but I did get a New York Times every morning.

We got fruit and water when we were there last week. If you get a discounted rate, you may not get your welcome gift if the hotel is busy. The hotel was full of conventioners while we were there, so we did get our welcome gift even though we had an AP rate and got a room upgrade.

Damo: That's good to know, I'll ask for a welcome gift anyway even though we're getting the AP rate. I know HRH is booked this weekend because of the superbowl.
