What weird things does your cat eat?

We just got a new cat. He's about a year old. We typically give him cat food, but have tried a few things, just for fun, that we were "sure he wouldn't eat" but he did! Like sauerkraut (sp?) pie crust, mashed potatoes, corn chips. The latest we discovered he liked, because he started meowing and was frantic to get at it, was olive oil. He LOVES olive oil, but we are afraid he'll get fat if we give him much. Maybe this is not so weird as we had a friend whose cat used to like black olives. He found the cat one day sitting on the table, fishing olives out of an open jar and eating them!

My cat, Sassy, will eat just about anything I am eating. She will come right up to me and try and take things out of my hands just as I am eating it. But she won't eat something that someone else is eating. Anyways, the weirdest thing she eats is chedder and sour cream potato chips. She LOVES them. She's never had olives, but I wouldn't think she'd eat them. Probably because I don't eat them. Weird cat.

My cat Molly goes nuts for blueberry muffins!.. she also loves french fries!

one of our cats will eat anything, he is quite large but i tell the vet he isn't fat, he just has a very small head for his body.
our other cat loves coffee, and anything with a tomato base to it. (ketchup, spag sauce etc)...but the funny side to their odd "people" food habits is that they will only eat friskies sliced chicken and gravey for cat food. we have tried diff brands, or flavors and it just sits there. this has been their diet of choice for over 13 yrs now.

Our current cat, 17 yr old Splash, will ONLY eat cat food -- lately ONLY Cluck-A-Doodle Doo flavor.

But, we used to have a cat, Lucy, who loved: crab rangoon, chinese chicken wings, chinese boneless spareribs, cheese curls, doritos, pizza, orange creamsicles.....i'm sure there's more i've forgotten.

It was sad after she died. Eating chinese food just wasn't the same. I didn't have anyone to fight over the crab rangoon with. Miss her.

My cats don't eat anything but cat food, but my dog (before he passed away) loved salad! It was so funny, he'd chomp down on a big thing of salad, except...he'd leave all the tomatoes!

He also ate grapes.

Our kitten, Tucker, loves all people food! I swear, the only way he won't eat something is if it's spicy. Honestly, Tucker would eat the paint off the walls if it were possible!!!

My cat loves anything mint- altoids, tic tacks. Hummus. BBQ pork. One of my other cats used love fruit for treat I gave her dried pears.

Here I was thinking our cat was strange, she will eat anything or try anything that is left out! She really loves popcorn and will come right up and try to put her head in the bowl. But that's only one of our cats the other is just cat food only.

Loaves of bread. We now have to make sure the bread is out of our cats reach they will eat through the plastic to get the bread. They also love cheese and lots of other people foods. They don't like fish or tuna.

Both our cats love hard salami. One of them also loves peanut butter, and cantaloupe (not together). 2 cats we catsit for love lettuce, and a friend of ours has a cat that goes bananas for bananas (but he has to chew them up a little first )

The day we got our cat we ordered a pizza from Dominoes and were shocked when she quickly climbed my DH's legs to get at the piece he was just about to enjoy. We got her at the pound and I always pictured her life before us living in a back alley behind a pizza joint gnawing on the pizzas in the trash. That was my backstory. My dog loves to walk through the garden with me while I pick peas, I eat the peas, she gets pods. Every body wins.

One of my cats loves mayo. He also goes bonkers over mashed potatoes. The other 4 have pretty normal eating habits.

I have 4 cats, but only Kycha has some weird food likes. She loves any kind of potato chip or pretzel. Really anything with salt she loves. Also, anything that has mint in it. She goes crazy when DH puts on the Mineral Ice. And finally she loves candy. Last year we brought home bags of candy from MNSSHP, and every night she would rummage through the bags and pull out pieces of candy. Fortunately, she was happy with the stuff we didn't like. So, I didn't have to share the M & M's with her. Oh yeah, I remember one day she found a lollipop. I spent about 30 minutes holding the lollipop so she could lick it. My husband thinks I am crazy.

One cat will not eat anything but her dry cat food, no treats, no tuna, nothing. The other cat likes anything that has mayo in or on it (I think she just likes mayo) so when we get subs she tries really hard to get the little shreds of lettuce from the subs (while we are eating them) She'll eat tuna, but only when mixed with mayo. Neither cat eats canned foods or treats. All they do is play with the treats when we give them to them.

I can't believe you can give cats all this people food. I had a cat my whole life. I was going to post plastic. He loves plastic wrap. The only non cat food I ever gave him is Tuna. He will eat eathbalance buttery spread if I leave it out.
