What week is February school vacation in your state?

I'm just trying to see who is on vacation during the month of Feb. In MA and ME I know it is the week of the 20th and NH is the following week? What about everybody else?
We are going the week before school vacation in MA, think it will still be very crowded??? Do others often pull their kids out the week before school vacation? My kids are still little so it doesn't matter yet....

ps- we went the first week of Feb last year and I thought it would be light crowds, but it was actually very crowded compared to past years. I was later told that some schools in the south have school vacation that first week of Feb???

Hi, it's usually the week that that includes President's Day, which would be Feb 19 - 26, 2006.

I'm in NH and our kids are on vacation Feb 25 to March 4. That's when we will be at Disney World. We went last year at that time too and the crowds were not too bad.

In Louisiana schools are out February 27, 28 and March 1 for Mardi Gras. We will be in Disney February 25 to March 4!

I've never heard of being out of school for a week in February. Is that the same thing as Spring Break? In GA, Spring Break varies by school system, but it is usually late March/early April and sometimes coincides with Easter - but not always.

We're in Florida and we don't get a february break. We have a longer christmas break instead.

February is our winter break. We have spring break in April. We have one week at Christmas, one in February, and one in April. Not sure why we have a winter break but it works for me because I love to go somewhere warm and escape the cold when we get the chance. Two years ago we went to WDW in January and the people in Florida were apologizing for the weather. Back home it was -50 with the wind chill (they closed school the Friday before we left because it was too cold!). It felt like 125 degrees warmer to us so we weren't complaining.

Feb 19-25 for the Western NY (Buffalo) area......this is only the 2nd year our school has done this. The kids used to have 2 weeks for Spring break but now get one week in Feb and 1 in April this year....

I've actually been liking the idea of year round school - you get breaks more evenly spaced through out the year. Of course if they all were like that, then the tourism areas would be very different.....

No February break at all here in our part of Maryland.
We do get one day off...Presidents' Day.

We're usually out for Mardi Gras...but not this year. Those days will be make-up days for the hurricanes.

Since they are also losing days from Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter breaks, I am seriously considering taking DS out of school the first week of February. I think that by then he'll be ready for a break. (I could use a vacation NOW!!! )

I have never entertained the thought of taking him out of school before now, but I think it would be a much needed break for us this year.

Eastern Pennsylvania Feb 18-21 for President's Day they add on a Teacher's professional day

...BUT our district is off during President's Week (20-24). Don't ask me why a state as small as this needs to divide up its vacation weeks!! Stinks when you're trying to make plans with friends in other districts who have off the week after!

In our county in MD we have 2/10 off and half days on 2/8 & 2/9. I know quite a few families, including us, that will be going down then!

NYC public schools are closed February 20-24 for Mid Winter Recess. (We have Winter Recess during Christmas)

We're out 7 days in April for Spring Recess.

We leave Feb 26th for a week . That as you already know is vacation in NH.

The school district I attended still doesn't have a spring break. They call their spring break Good Friday and the Monday after Easter. However if there is a snow day they'll take Monday away.

The town I live in now does have the same Easter break as well as a Spring Break in March.

I honestly didn't know until about 7 years ago that anyone other than college kids got Spring Break
