What week is easier to book inside the 7 months

We will be planning a trip late 2012 around Thanksgiving. Is it easer to book starting the Sunday before Thanksgiving, or the Sunday after thanksgiving. We would like to try BLT or Boardwalk standard if possible.

I don't think either of those weeks will be easy to get if you are talking about booking using the 7 months window. For sure, the BWV standard / Boardwalk views will be gone as will the BLT standard & MK views. BLT Lake view and Boardwalk Pool/Garden view will be your best chance to get into those resorts at 7 months.

You might have luck with the waitlist, though. Never hurts to try.

My choice (no matter which booking window you will be using) would be the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving week is much more crowded as far as the parks go than is the week following. Both weeks are popular times for DVC members to visit.

I agree with Carol, that the week after would be so much more manageable.

I also agree that the views you are looking for would be tough to come by at 7 months. Call right when your window opens up and see what you can get, and WL for what you don't.

My home resort is ssr, so do you think I'd still be able to get that during the 7 month window?

If SSR is home resort, I would book at 11 month window, and then try at 7 month window to get in at other resorts you talked about. You can wait list, bit still have SSR if that fails.

We always book at BLT room starting the Sunday before Thanksgiving for my brithday trip. This year I called 2 days after my window opened up and could not get a standard studio. I did get a MKV studio for my dates but the standards were already gone. For those dates I would say you need to plan on a LV for BLT or a PV for BWV and be thrilled if you can get into those.

Maybe, esp if you wait list. As others have said, book your home resort at 11 months out. For this time of year do not wait and hope for availability. Even if you're not sure your travel week, make your best guess and book something. Do not wait until 7 months out to get a reservation. Then at 7 months you can try for something else and wait list if needed.

We are going the week after Thanksgiving this year but not until Wednesday. When I called right at the 7 month mark the only thing available was SSR, OKW and AKL. We were looking for a 2 bedroom and I booked OKW as we haven't stayed there yet. I would think you can get something but maybe not your first choice. I have been waitlisted for BWV and BCV with no luck yet.

We went to MK the Friday after Thanksgiving a few years ago..
Never again! So So SO crowded!

We usually fly in the Saturday after T-day and enjoy the Christmas decorations without the crowds.

I tried for a standard view 1 BR at BLT for this same week in 2012 a few days past my 11 month window. No standard views were left so I shifted my dates to the next week. You never know until you call though. With some somebody will cancel the room you're looking for right before you call!
