We are thinking about going in January because we want to go during value season and when a friend taking college classes can come with us. We are currently thinking about Jan 7-14 but I just saw the Marathon is Jan 8th. We could go Jan 14-21st but that is Martin Luther King Day. Which week is better for low crowds?

hello there,
we were there this past january, from the 8th-15th. that sunday was the marathon, and we went to mgm(emh night) and it was very empty, loved it. they run so early in the morn, that it isn't a problem that we noticed. i think that most are so tired, and sore that they hang out at the hotels, for the afternoon. we were just finishing breakfast, when alot of brave runners were hobbling back with their medals.

that next monday we went to mk which is a busy day for it to start with and it was full of runners who took advantage of the (from what some told me, i could be wrong) free pass, but even then we only waited in line for BTMRR and that was only for 20 min. the rest of the week was EMPTY,it was awesome, and we had temps in the 80's for the most part. we did notice that by the following weekend it was getting much busier, as it was maritn luther king holiday. i guess a big 3 day weekend for the parks.

we are going again in 2007, and it will be for the same time frame, week b4 mlk holiday. it is alot of fun to meet the runners, and make new friends from all over the world that come for it.
