This was the most interesting WDW trip we have ever taken. We literally decided on Friday, December 5th to stop for one night at WDW on our way to a seminar in Miami. We called a room was available. It was meant to be.:thumbsup2

We drove in Monday about 2 pm and our room was ready! By 3 pm we were in Epcot (or Apricot as it is known in our family). Lines were short, everyone was friendly and we felt like we had hit the lottery of WDW because it was so good. We had free passes from an unfortunate incident last year that WDW wanted to correct so all it cost for the 4 of us was the $74 for the room at ASMu. The Pop Warner wasn't bad at all in the hotel.

We got up on Tuesday and were in MK by 9:10 am. We were still flying high from the day before and it just continued. DD rode Splash Mountain (2xs), Big Thunder (2xs) and the Aladdin Carpets, POTC, JK all by 11:00 am. We rode Buzz 3xs and COP and TTA 2xs we stopped for lunch. We decided against my better judgement to head to Fantasyland.

This is where we got bogged down. The crowds were heavy and the lines were long. Wait time for Honey Pots (DS's favorite) was listed at 20 minutes. Okay. We can handle that. Got fast passes for Peter Pan and waited for Honey Pots. DS is autistic and does not do well in enclosed spaces. By 20 minutes he was perceverating on getting on the ride, by 30 minutes full blown tantrum was imminent and by 40 minutes shear screaming was there. We had a GAC but did not use it as DS seemed fine and we thought usually 20 minute wait actually means 15 min. We thought we can try and talk him through it and we hate to feel like we are using it when we don't really need to. By 45 minutes we were at the head of the line. The CM was rude and less than helpful. We were thouroughly annoyed!

We quickly exited the park as the parade was starting and we could not get to Guest Relations to talk to them as the line was out the door. We got on the monorail where we met the nicest man. He let us ride up front and DS was slightly better. We (the mom's) were much calmer by the time we reached the TTC.

We were able to take a step back and put it all in perspective. Our time at WDW was overall completely wonderful and magical. The one last incident was what we were focusing on and it was tainting our view of our whole trip.

I realized that when I read what some Diser's write I need to remember that. That whatever they are really upset about may have been the last thing they remember and it is tainting everything. (I think hotels and restaurants particularly).

So this was a great learning trip for us and a great time overall. Can't wait to go in April! :goodvibes
