DH and I had our first dance to "At Last", by Etta James.
We also gave our guests cds with love songs including: "Maybe I'm Amazed", "Let's Stay Together", "God Only Knows", "I Could Not Ask for More", "Come Rain or Come Shine", "Our Love is Here to Stay", "It Had to be You", "The Way You Look Tonight", "We Are in Love", "My Love", "The Very Thought of You", and "Someone Like You".

How about you?

All For One, by Sting, Bryan Adams and (uh-oh...Rod Stewart..maybe??) From the Disney movie The Three Musketeer's. WE love that song!

Oh wow....I'm getting married this year and we've already decided on "At Last" as our song!!!! The words are perfect, but the "at last" part REALLY speaks to us.

My brother picked a wonderful song- I Love You, by the Climax Blues Band "Whan I was a younger man I hadn't a care..."

 Great thread!!!

Cathryn~

"Could I Have This Dance" by Anne Murray.

You Mean More To Me by Lionel Richie. (never a single, the band learned it for my wedding...it pays to know the band)

"Valentine" by Jim Brickman

That was our wedding song too. It was especially appropriate as we got married ON Valentine's Day. :goodvibes

That was my sisters...I really liked it.

Mine was "All My Life" by Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville

We picked ours the moment we first heard the song. We got engaged at Seaworld and we went back one day and it was during the Bud and BBQ Fest, Keith Urban was playing that night. Well when we played "Your Everything" we both loved it and now it is going to be our song. :goodvibes

"The first time I looked in your eyes I knew
That I would do anything for you
The first time you touched my face I felt
Like I've never felt with anyone else

I wana give back what you've givin' to me
And I wanna witness all of your dreams
Now that you've shown me who I really am
I wanna be more then just a man

I wanna be the wind that fills your sails
And be the hand that lifts your veil
And be the moon that moves your tide
The sun coming up in your eyes
Be the wheels that never rust
And be the spark that lights you up
All that you've been dreaming of and more
So much more, I wanna be your everything...

When you wake up, I'll be the first thing you see
And when it gets dark you can reach out to me
I'll cherish your words and I'll finish your thoughts
And I'll be your compass baby, when you get lost

I wanna be the wind that fills your sails
And be the hand that lifts your veil
And be the moon that moves your tide
The sun coming up in your eyes
Be the wheels that never rust
And be the spark that lights you up
All that you've been dreaming of and more
So much more, I wanna be your everything...

I'll be the wheels that never rust
And be the spark that lights you up
All that you've been dreaming of and more
So much more, I wanna be your everything...
I wanna be your everything"

Of course growing up I always wanted George Strait's "I cross my heart"... somehow I'll work that into the reception. =o)

Ours was Joe Cocker's You are so Beautiful.

I bet if I asked my husband right now what it was he wouldn't remember!

:rockband: "I Wanna Be Sedated" by The Ramones

Just kidding.

Ours was "Rapture" by Anita Baker

We had friends that got married on Valentine's Day a couple of years ago. Actually for us, I asked my DW to marry me on Valentine's Day!

Our song was "Noboby Loves Me Like You Do" by Whitney Houston and Jermaine Jackson but if I could choose again I would choose "If You Ever Had Forever In Mind" by Vince Gill...I absolutely LOVE that song. :wave2:

"I Love You For Sentimental Reasons" by Nat King Cole

We didn't have dancing at our reception, but we used these songs in our ceremony and they were all carefully chosen:

In This Very Room - sung by my children's choir

One Hand, One Heart - processional

I Could Not Ask for More - sung by my Maid of Honor & his Best Man as a duet

Great is Thy Faithfulness - congregational hymn during candlelighting

All Love Can Be - the love song from A Beautiful Mind, music was never written for it, but my pianist wrote accompinent for it

At Last - Celine Dion's version, this started at the kiss and through the recessional

So we don't really have a song, but anytime we hear any of those, we both reminisence on that part of our ceremony =)

The Power of Love by Celine Dion. It's the one that goes, Cause I'm your Lady, and you are my Man.
