What was your least favourite subject at school?

History. I had the hardest time remembering names and dates. All of the dates were just a long, long time ago and meant nothing to me.

P.E. without a doubt! It was never called Gym around here. I had to take two years of it for high school. My freshman year I got it first period. There's nothing worse than that. We had a swimming unit and I had to go around with wet hair the rest of the day. There was way too many girls fighting over the mirror and few hair dryers. I remember telling the coaches it was that time of the month so I could skip swimming several times! Of course, they never questioned it, they were guys. We also had a volleyball and dance unit as freshman, ugh. I chose to skip P.E. as a sophomore and take it my junior year instead. Best decision I ever made. We had units on badminton, ping pong, tennis. We just goofed around and it was fun. I also hated math with a passion, I was terrible at it and so I cut class quite a few times. I was a good girl though and only went as far as the library.

Even though I was really good at math, I can understand why people wouldn't like it.

But why all the hate for gym? That was the easiest part of the day. No homework, no tests.

Oh, we had written tests in gym and occasionally homework- I specifically remember having to choreograph an aerobic workout. I am hopelessly uncoordinated and suck at all sports- I have asthma which is exacerbated by exercise as well as cold weather (which in Maine is every month but June, July and August). Gym class was horrible.

PE, hands down. We had to take it all through HS, no exceptions!
I was not a sporty type girl. I had, and still have,, no coordination at all. I trip while walking over a flat floor, and fall over while standing up. Honestly, I was the last picked for anything in gym. Also hated those gym uniforms of stiff cotton navy blue shorts that never fit, stiff white shirts that never stayed tucked in,and thick wool socks. No one looked good in them, I was the only girl in our class who could not climb the rope in PE, not even one foot.
So, I hated PE
I am still super clumsy and uncoordinated to this day:)

Gym for sure, mostly because of the stupid uniforms we had to change into in the middle of the day, then shower & get redressed, hated everything about it! Also not a fan of ancient history, I couldn't learn the Chinese dynasties for the life of me!

Other than that, it wasn't so much a subject I disliked, more like teachers I didn't care for so I dreaded their classes.

Probably biology, even though I never took it. My dad was a butcher, but the idea of dissecting anything completely grossed me out, so I stayed well away from any biology class and took physics/chemistry, instead.

Next-to-least favorite class: Physics. :D I could plug in the formulas and do the math but never really understood the why behind it all. For example, I never got why it was per second squared. And our teacher, who had a Ph.D. and was semi-retired teaching high school physics, never really explained the concepts, at least so I could get it.

College - German. I only took 2 years of language in HS so I had to take 3 semesters of a language in college. Ugh. I made sure my DD took 4 years of French in HS so she could possibly avoid the same fate.

ETA: I wasn't a big Math fan either but things got better after I finished 3rd semester Calculus.

P.E. (gym) was my #1 for sure. I think I only had to take it for two years in high school though.

Other than that, it was definitely the sciences. I hated biology, chemistry, and physics. I liked marine biology though because the teacher made it fun.

I loved all of the language arts type classes-- English, history, government, and especially foreign languages. I used all of my electives for foreign languages, so I took German, French, and Spanish.

I hated History. And for the many people here who disliked math, you're not alone. I used to be a Math teacher, and the first day, NO ONE looked happy to be taking math. I remember once, when I was teaching college, I made the mistake of asking why people were taking the class, and one student said "Because it's a requirement for my major and I've been putting it off for 4 years, hoping it would go away. Now I'm in my last semester of my senior year, and it's still required, so I had to take it!" And I've heard that math anxiety IS a confirmed thing.

Latin, then gym, then languages in general. I excelled at English, sciences, music and geography.

Maths, PE (unsurprisingly)

Maths never clicked in my brain sadly and I was far from athletic or coordinated so PE sucked.

I often have nightmares about not being prepared for an exam.

Subjects? Vitamin studies, Ancient Egyption, Infra-red Studies, Pseudo-Greek...

I'd say math was my least favorite growing up.

But math plays a big role in the major I chose, so I had to learn to like it. And I wound up getting a minor in math.

Any class had the potential to suck if the teacher sucked, but the one subject I consistently disliked all the way through school:

History. Blah, so boring. Eyes glazing over... snooze.

Science was my favorite. Geography too, but that only came up once or twice in the curriculum throughout my entire school career so it was mostly self-taught.

Definitely PE. I've been overweight since puberty so PE was just a nightmare. We had a uniform as most do. We had 3 different colored shorts: the top %10 on the Presidential Fitness Tests got to wear green shorts, the next 30% got to wear gold and the rest of us all wore blue. It was very much a class system and the green short-wearers were in charge of everything. Us blues just cowered in the back and tried to blend into the scenery.
Running a mile every day was really not my idea of fun either.

Bring on the brain work!
