Turning up for a morning to finish at 12pm

graduation night. word got round that one of the kids that lived in the country was having a graduation part so EVERYONE showed up.......miles of cars crowding the narrow roads (we had over 600 in our graduating class), hysterical parents trying to shoo the drunken grads away as their grad kept repeating 'but i only told a few friends who said the told a few others', the better part of the entire local police force trying to break it up (and their police dogs locked in the cars barking away). me, my bff and our foreign exchange student (who had been drinking). our sweet, unassuming, low key little foreign exchange student started chanting loudly and repeatedly 'down with the impirialist dogs', 'end apartheid now'-and the other drunks joined in. she was starting to get too much attention from the police so we were shushhing her and reminding her she was still in the u.s., not at home in south africa-and if she did'nt want to get her tush deported before her planned trip to disneyland the next week she better pipe down and get in my car. we poured her into the car, rolled up the window (hot night/no a/c ) and got as far away from the party as we could. spent the rest of the night sobering her up and listening to her sing protest songs.
