What was YOUR first post on the DIS about?

I remember! Mine was about me and my family. I first posted on the Welcome Board and intorduced myself. At the time I was seeing a lot of those (don't see many anymore) andthought it was the way to start so I did it.

Although I'd been to WDW at least 15 times, I found this place while googling information about Adventures by Disney after I had booked a vacation with them. So I'm sure my post what somewhere on the AbD board.

What a great question! I had to go back and look, although I knew it was a Planning Question because I found the DIS when I was planning my first trip and stayed on the Planning boards for a very long time. The CB was a scary and evil place that I never intended to go to.

I started a thread on the Resorts Board asking if there were coffee makers and hairdryers at ASMo. The one response I got back was no to both. Can't remember if there really were hair dryers in the rooms in 2003 or not. I will have to look at my photos.

If you go to advance search, type in your name into the username box. Then down below, select that the older post shows first in ascending order. That brought my first post to the first page.

I just kind jumped in with no real intentions on anything. There's some posts on the Budget Board and Camping board first.

Now my first message board site that I became a member of Aug 5, 2001. I do remember my "home board", and why I created it.

The Old Fogies won't be able to do that, most of our first threads were before the changeover. Our numbers and the day we registered were all changed.

I remember finding the DIS in 1998. My son was 5. We had just come back from our first trip to Orlando to the first year of IoA. I was SHOCKED that I had spent so much!! The boards were one page at that time and I felt like a fish out of water.

Now many moons later and my son is now 17, lots has changed but it's still the DIS.

Under my first user name, I posted about why it was taking so long to receive my confirmation letter. That was March 2005. After our trip in May of that year I didn't come back to the DIS and then when I did, I couldn't remember my user info so I started this account.

Oops, that was a post under my original ID.
Under this ID my first post was about Hurricane Katrina. Someone was posting bologna about the French Quarter being underwater and I pointed out that the FQ never had water.
