My first roller coaster at Disneyland was also my first roller coaster ever. It was Space Mountain. I do not remember how old I was…probably under 10…and I was terrified. Every exit we passed, I begged my parents not to make me go on it.

Little llama and I love it now. I did not force her to ride it or any other ride she was afraid off. She decided all on her own to try the Matterhorn. After that, she wanted to ride all the coasters. She loves them now. In fact, next trip, we are already planning to make rope drop and make SM our first ride.

Matterhorn. My first visit though was in 2007. So many years wasted. My first visit to WDW was 1990 and first coaster there was Space Mtn.

I wasted so many years! My first coaster was BTMRR -- at 24!! I was just a big chicken when it came to rides. Now I'm trying to make up for lost time.

The Matterhorn. I was 4 years old. I remember going with my dad straight there at opening to ride first thing in the morning. :)

Matterhorn. It was 1983, I was 5 - the summer before I started Kindergarten!

My mom and I got in our car and there was a TON of change (quarters, dimes, nickels, etc.) on the floor. A CM told us "finders, keepers"...we scooped up the change and when we got off the ride, she went and got me a frozen slushie (that I had to share with my sisters - haha!)

Matterhorn, I was 3 and begged to ride it mom says I wasn't tall enough but I was freaking so bad they let me go, I don't really know I don't remember lol

Don't feel bad I was/am the very same. I think I may have ridden BTMRR as a younger kid but I think that was the only one I would go on..I was maybe 15 my first time. The first time I went on Space Mtn was in WDW after my mom passed away..it was her favorite ride and I felt I owed it to her. It was extremely emotional but in a good way. I was 25.

First coaster at DL was BTMRR.... First coaster ever was the corkscrew at Knotts Berry Farm... I was scared out of my mind but by the time it was done I was ready to go again! :)

Matterhorn. It was the only coaster that the park had. Those others that everyone's mentioning were not even ideas in the Imagineers heads yet. This was 1960. My brother and I waited over two hours to get on it. Then went again later that night.

Matterhorn, age 3, 1975 or 1976. Loved it.

My father always said one of his favorite moments at Disneyland (about 4 years later after sis and bro were old enough) was when we were all big enough to ride the Matterhorn and no one had to stay behind.

Mine was the Matterhorn last year! I thought it was so lucky that it was open because officially it was supposed to be under refurbishment. Once I saw that it was available, I was in line :)

Space when I was around 7 with my dad. First ride at DL ever I was a little freaked out but loved it.

Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road when I was about 4 or 5... I kept screaming please god dont let me die, please god dont let me die...

I can't really remember what my first DL coaster was, I believe it was Space Mountain. I was 5-ish during my first trip and the thing that I remember the most is we took the tram into the park and got off right in front of 20,000 leagues under the sea. That was our first ride and my sisters and I were so taken with it that we wanted to just stay there and ride it again and again. My parents had to drag us away while trying to convince us that there were bigger and better rides in the rest of the park. :rotfl:
