What was your favorite to eat at Le Cellier?

We were there for lunch on 9/30. We ordered a bowl of cheddar cheese soup to share:

And we both ordered the New York Strip. I was debating between the filet and the ribeye, but our waiter warned that the filet is small and didn't recommend substituting the mushroom risotto for anything. He said it wouldn't pair well and wouldn't taste as good. IMHO the strip was tender enough that I didn't feel like we missed out not get the filet. Mine medium rare:

And DBF medium well:

We also both ordered the chocoate whiskey cake:

Sorry, that was all that was left of mine by the time I remembered to take a pic. DBF's was already completely gone.

Was it good? HECK YEAH. We'll defintely be back.

Another drool worthy meal we had was at Kona Cafe (Ginger Crusted Rib eye for me, Pomegranite BBQ Pork Chop for DBF).

I love the filet mignon with mushroom risotto!

Yup! That's what I had. It was amazing.

My DH had the NY strip and I think he is still drooling over the thought of it.

We both got the chocolate "moose" for dessert and it was also excellent. Sweet, but not too sweet and the perfect end to the meal.

The filet and risotto is my favorite too! It literally melts in your mouth with savory goodness!

Loved the filet and risotto back in June. Last month I really wanted a salad before dinner so I did the 3 course Chef's Favorite's option - a choice of 3 appetizers, 4 entrees and 3 desserts and you pick one from each list. The salad was amazing - mixed field greens but it had pears and walnuts and a balsamic vinaigrette, I believe. I chose the prime rib for my entree but it was very rare (my bad for forgetting to order medium rather than medium rare) and like most prime rib, a bit fatty. It was tasty, but nowhere near as good as the filet. For dessert, I had the maple creme brulee and I loved it.

Loved the filet with risotto - and I normally hate mushrooms, even! The cheese soup and chocolate moose were also great. One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet that we had was the chicken sausage appetizer, which was also awesome. Really there wasn't a single thing we got that we didn't think was great!

hi there......

For the food, it's got to be Le Cellier. The steaks are awesome, but the real reason I go there is for the Canadian Cheese Soup and the pretzel bread. But ambiance-wise, the Coral Reef has to be my favorite. I absolutely love sitting next to that huge aquarium......

Duck three ways appetizer, filet with mushroom risotto, maple creme brulee, and mango smoothie.

has anyone ever tried the steak burger? I was looking at the menu and the NY strip sounded really good but so did the steak burger any reviews on it?

The dad at the table next to us kept raving loudly to his family about how great it was. DH & I were chuckling a little b/c he was so enthusiastic about it to his family, lol. It's served on an English muffin (not a traditional bun).

My fave entree is the steak salad w/ a side of truffle butter to dip my steak in. DH said that my steak was even more tender than his mushroom filet. I also really enjoyed the cheese soup, duck appetizer, and creme brulee.

I had the lump crab and sweet corn custards appetizer and the pan-seared scallops. Can you tell I'm not a steak eater? Anyway, this was, by far, the BEST TS meal (of seven) of my vacation.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Picky eater here. I had the filet WITHOUT the mushrooms or risotto. Instead I asked for the potatoes (that I think come with the strip steak??) - they are an au-gratin type with a breading over it - THEY WERE INCREDIBLE!

I highly recommend this meal - with my substitutes.

oh and I found the cheese soup only 'OK' - not as great as I was hoping.

We ate there for the first time in August and we hope to eat there again in April. My husband and I both had the filet with the au-gratin potatoes and my son had the strip with the au-gratin potatoes. I will just say that there wasn't a crumb left on any of our plates when we were finished! Everything was amazing from the service right down to the little chocolate mousse!

Whatever you order, get it with the cream cheese mashed potatos!

The day I had the au gratin potatos, they were way to crumb-y. The filet is not too small, given all the other food. And if you want a side, the grilled asparagus is .

Cheese soup-excellent!
Filet and Risotto.-You can substitute mashed potatoes for the Risotto-Don't do it!

Filet mignon w/ mushroom risotto was DELISH!!!

And my goodness, the pretzel bread that is served at the beginning is heavenly with butter:cloud9:

The cheddar cheese soup. I really could just make a meal out of that and pretzel bread.

Had the NY Strip Steak and potato gratin in May. LOVED the steak and cheddar beer soup. Would not do the potatoes again. Very small portion of potatoes that were overcooked and underspiced.

There are a few pictures on my blog. Link in my signature. Also has a couple of dessert pics too. :)
