Hi all, I am just trying to determine the best, most fun thing to do for my family in Cozumel. We are adventurous, and enjoy snorkeling. Not into boring beaches with no underwater sights (just sandy and clear..) We are possibly planning an ATV tour, but are open to other idea's. So, anyones opinions are appreciated! Thanks!

Shopping and Yard of Margarita at Senor Frogs!!!

dune buggy tour....

I second TheWog! Dune Buggie tours (which includes snorkeling) cozumelhomes.com

Did this in March and it was the best day of the entire cruise!

While it may be kind of "boring" (especially compared to going on dune buggies :) ), visiting Tulum was one of the best excursions we've been on. What other opportunity do you have to see the only Mayan ancient ruins butted up against one of the most beautiful beaches along some incredible sea cliffs?

Anyway, just my 2 cents...

We also did the jungle jeep tour. It was fun and definitely not boring!

Checkout the website from TootyJane above, it offers a variety of adventure tours.!

I think many of the jeep, dune buggie and atv excursions tour the same trails along the beach, we passed several other groups when we did the tour. It's just a matter of which vehicle you prefer!

Have fun!

If your into something short you could try the Ocean Explorer tour...its maybe a 10 minute ride from ship and the tour lasts about an hour...its a semi sub..and you get to see lots of interesting fish and corals...while snorkeling is better for this its great for those who dont like to get wet or skittish etc. Worked out to be a nice short trip and we were able to get all of the shopping in that we wanted....and I concur with the Yard from Senor Frogs....( even the kids had one...non alcholic of course )

We loved Chankanaab park. It has fake ruins to look at (quite a few in a jungle hike type situation), I believe a Museum which we never go to, a beach-side Mexican restaurant, sea lion shows, bird shows, excellent snorkeling and swim with the dolphins which we booked through shoretrips.com. Go there as soon as the ship docks to get to see and do everything. You can get a palapa with beach chairs. The taxi ride for 4 people was 10.00 each way. The taxis are extremely easy to get. They are everywhere. Have fun!!

Chankanaab! Great snorkeling! Very small area of swimming for small kids. "Fake" ruins but nice feel. Combine with Mr. Santos!

1)Snorkeling with Eagel Ray Divers...The BEST excurtion we have ever been on!
2) Sitting the a rest. in the "Plaza" eating appitizers and drinking cold beer while the kids were back on the ship watching a movie!
3) Watching a coulpe RUN for their ship when they came out of C&C and saw their ship pulling away from the dock!!

Mr. Sanchos..right away in the morning, stay through lunch..great food, grab a cab back to downtown and go shopping.

Head back to the ship with all our loot, freshen up and go back out to Carlos and Charlies for dinner and drinks.

What a blast!

Hey RellingTwin, you said you loved your excursion thru Eagle Ray divers.. We've been looking into that. Would you say the snorkeling was exceptional? How deep was the water you snorkeled in? Was is so deep that you had to swim down under the water a lot to get up close to stuff you wanted to see?( I have an adventurous child, and am trying to figure if it'll be enjoyable for all of us..) Did you see anything REALLY cool that you might not normally see on another trip? I'm just curious. Any chance you have any underwater pictures posted on a website? JUST checking... I've been going back and forth between a snorkel excursion and that ATV trip. I just don't know! So far, I'm leaning away from the ATV thing. I'm becomig CHEAP and it's a bit pricey. Too much $$$ going out everywhere else right now. Anyways, Thanks for all your insight! You can keep the idea's flowing. It's quite helpful to hear what other's have to say about their favorite things to do.
