What was your Best Rate at GF or Poly?

So we're planning on a Feb '06 wedding in WDW, and figured that if we're gonna do this, we're gonna and this right.
I'm hoping to get some info on what were your best rates at either the Poly or the GF. We're most likely gonna be getting AP's since we'll be having a planning session 5 months prior to our actual wedding (if that helps at all).

Florida Residents pay about the same as AP holders, so it's big savings. we just spent three days at the GF on Feb 6-9 and paid $199 for a garden view. For Labor Day weekend last year we paid $230 a night at the Polynesian.

Of course, the best deal of all was a Florida Residents discount at the Polynesian: $99 a night! This was back in 1987...

Well, since you asked, and I quote, "What was your Best Rate at GF or Poly?", I'll have to say that our best rate at the Polynesian (Village) was ~$44/night back in the early 70's. Ahhh, for the good ol' days. And that had nothing to do with "FL resident rates".
For comparison sake, we're paying $344/night at the Polynesian this coming June.

Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding. I fully agree with your comment of "if you're gunna do it, you might as well do it right". My wife and I honeymooned at the Polynesian back in '88. There's NO OTHER PLACE to honeymoon (IMHO). I can take my opinion one step further and say that there's NO OTHER PLACE to stay on Disney property. But then again, that's just my unsolicited opinon.

Are you getting married in WDW? I don't know all the details, but my cousin was married in the wedding pavilion at the GF last June. As part of the wedding package all of her guests were offered great rates at 3 different hotels (1 value, 1 moderate, and the GF). I think we paid around $160 (including tax) and were offered special hopper tickets during our stay (2-day and 3-day hoppers). We could not believe the rate, now we just need to figure out how to get on other people's guest list

We paid 139 in Oct 2001 for the Poly. We had this rate before 9/11. It was a disney club rate I believe.

Congratulations on your wedding. My best rates were $200/standard view for an airline discount in Oct. 03. This year we got the Poly for oct 04 for $191/night I think Lagoon view. I am actually going to call back and try to get a better GF rate with either an airline or later in the year an AP rate. Actually I like the challenge of trying to get a lower rate.
