Talk About Crazy....

Last year I saw a couple (they had to be at least 40 years old) trying to sneak into Disneyworld. Of course they got caught. They were trying to distract the ticket guy!!!! I couldn't believe it!!! It was sad, but too funny!!!!

"Sorry, but these are tickets for Universal."
"What?"
"These are the Disney-MGM Studios - Universal is about 20 miles... that way".

Last year at Buzz Lightyear I saw a Mom begging her kids to let her ride it one more time.

The two boys were between 9-12, and apparently had ridden it enough. She was asking, "Please, just one more time today. That's all I ask".

I walked on, so didn't find out if she got to go back on. Talk about your role reversal.....it was funny to see.

The first thing that came to my mind after reading the title of this thread was this lady I encountered in Frontierland one year. I overheard her say, in the grumpiest voice I've ever heard, "I don't want to see this junk...I just want to see the castle!!!" At the time, she was facing away from the castle, but, of course, it was right behind her! I always find it funny how grouchy some people can be, even when they're at WDW. Great Thread!

Leaving MGM one rainy night, when there were puddles everywhere, two little girls were in front of us, hitting every puddle while singing that old tv jingle "I feel like chicken tonight, like chicken tonight!" It was hilarious. This was several years ago, and we all still laugh about it!

Last night, before SpectroMagic, I was talking to a family near my crosswalk. I asked the youngest girl (3 years old, maybe) what her favorite thing had been that day. She replied "green and blue." Of course, she thought I wanted to know her favorite colors , not her favorite ride.

One afternoon, we arrived at the Magic Kingdom during a downpour, so we went to the Main Street train station to wait out the storm. We watched people running down Main Street in the rain. One woman had a blue shopping bag on her head, and the bag was filled air so that she looked like Marge Simpson.

Another time, a friend and I were in line for the Buzz Lightyear bumper cars at Disney Quest. There was a group of junior high school kids on a field trip, and several of them were in line in front of us. There was this one girl (we called her Baby JLo) who just had the whole attitude thing going. She was the ringleader of the group, telling all the kids who would be riding the ride together. She was letting a bunch of kids cut the line in front of us. After watching a half dozen kids cut in front of us, we had enough, so my friend and I and a mom and son from New Jersey blocked the line so no more kids can get in front of us. Baby JLo just kept on shooting the evil eye with us.

So, we get on the ride, and my friend and I decided that Baby JLo would be the target of our mission. We kept on bumping into her car, and firing missles at her. Each time we hit her, she would shoot the evil eye at us again. When the ride ended, the mother and son from New Jersey walk over to us, and the mom tells us that they were also gunning for Baby JLo. Bumper cars are one of the few ways adults can get away with attacking kids, and Baby JLo sure did deserve it.

Ok, I thought of another one. My boyfriend and I were there in March, his first trip. We're both students at NC State University, home of the Wolfpack. Everytime we passed anyone wearing anything ACC or any other rival of NCSU, he would mutter under his breath, "Go Wolfpack!" It was hilarious, because it was never loud enough for anyone but me to hear, but he did it EVERY time, and he's normally very reserved, so it was nice to see him let loose a little...

Can't believe I didn't think of this one before! DBF and I were at AK, getting ready to board the train for Rafiki's Conservation Station. This loudmouthed woman was screaming at a cast member about how ridiculous it was that she was going to have to leave her stroller behind before getting on the train. "You mean I'm going to have to come ALL the way back here to pick up my stroller!?!? This is SO STUPID! Who designed this ride?" I thought it was pretty obvious from looking at the park map that the train GOES IN A CIRCLE!!!!  The poor cast member couldn't get a word in edgewise to help her understand. Ahhh, that one still brings a grin to my face!

The weirdest thing I ever saw was the 5:45 a.m. fireworks. I was staying at POFQ (when it was just PO) and they did a test run of the 25th anniversary show at EPCOT. I didn't actually see them, too far away, but the sound was really loud. I loved it! I wish odd hour fireworks were a regular thing at WDW.:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

BTW, I've also heard fireworks from BB at 11:30 p.m.

My girlfriend and I had taken refuge in one of the Innoventions pavillons at EPCOT during a rain storm last September. We saw the robot (don't know the name - but the robot that roams around and talks to folks). Anyway the robot was carrying on to an elderly gentleman about his girlfriend "PUSH". This older guy was listening and asking questions about the girlfriend and the robot was shooting back descriptions and how she was sometimes "full of it". It took all of us watching (aside from the elderly gentleman - who never seemed to get it) a few minutes to realize that the robot's "girlfriend" was the trash can less than 2 feet from the guy (you know...... where the flap on the can says "PUSH"). It was hilarious. The old guy never got it.

If you ever get a chance to watch the robot or interact with it..... do it. Whoever runs it is truely a talented improvisational actor.

one of the funniest things that I have seen was at the Magic Kingdom this spring, I was there with DF and we were standing next to It's a Small World, a group of elderly guests' approached the attraction and looked quizzically at it for a few moments then one of the older ladies in an ecv said "this must be the haunted castle, let's go on" If only they knew how true that statement was.

Last June DH, DS and I were in line at the safari ride at AK when this woman in front of us with her family said in a very loud voice how horrible FP was and that they were not going to use it. She said it was the worst decision Disney had ever made. DS and DH and I just looked at each other and laughed. She just didn't get it. But then if that family of 5 wants to wait in lines that is just 5 more FP for my family to have.

Before the "Show" parents are warned that this particular attraction made be too scary for small children, and almost every time I am there I see a parent telling their child "You are a big girl/boy... you won't be scared." When the attraction lets out half of these kids are clinging to their parents, screaming and crying. I feel bad for the kids but is is rather funny what some parents will do.
I am guilty as charged. At MGM I finally coaxed my young son to go on the Jaws attraction. Of course his seat at the edge of the boat was right were Jaws lunges from the water. That pretty much did it for the rest of the trip.

The mention of Alien Encounter reminded me of something...

On our last trip my husband and I finally got the chance to see Alien Encounter. There was a father with two boys near us in line. One boy was probably in the 9-10 range and the other a bit older, maybe 11-12. The younger boy was noticably nervous and the older boy was teasing him mercilessly... "you're such a baby" " scaredy cat"... that sort of thing. The dad was reassuring the younger boy and telling his brother to leave him alone but nothing stopped him. When it reached the part where the Alien escapes and the lights are out and things start spraying, the older boy freaked out competely, screaming, yelling to be let out... the dad and younger boy just chuckled... I must say it's one of the best illustrations of justice I've ever seen!

Jaws??? at MGM???

Boy I must have missed that one. Guess when they rehabbed the GMR, they REALLY rehabbed it...

Or is it a new part of the pre-show at Voyage of the Little Mermaid??

Sorry prez, just had to pick up on this one...

Reading the post about the robot reminded me of our "Talking Tree" experience at AK in May. We were waiting for opening outside the gates, and this talking tree comes over to us and started yelling out my daughter's name (she was wearing a GOH badge - don't forget to get one!!) . My DD, 7 was in such shock she could hardly answer him! Anyway, while the tree is trying to converse with my family, these two little boys come over and start climbing all over it. Noone stopped them and they wouldn't get off when the tree asked them to. Finally the tree used this really booming official voice and yelled..."Hey boys - do you see that nice Mr. Security Man over there? Well, he's on his way over to your parents RIGHT NOW and You will be escorted out of here. Maybe to jail!!!" It was hysterical, and it worked!!! Those robots are so cool - and the cameras must be so strong if they picked up my daughter's nametag. What a fun job it must be to spy on people!!! Great thread!!

Back in '94 when my friend and I were at Epcot, they had a bunch of characaters come out on a bus. One of the characters was Pinnochio. We were going to get our picture taken with him when his big blue bow, the one below his neck came off. It snaps onto his shirt. Anyway, he handed it to my friend and gestured to her to try and snap it back on. Interestingly, it was not as simple as it sounds! She's struggling to snap this thing on and while she's doing this he's playing with her long hair, just like a little kid would! He was so in character it was great. Everyone who was watching was laughing at this! Anyway, I am snapping pictures from every angle, as the interaction was completely between him and her for several minutes! She never could get the darn thing snapped on so he grabbed her by the hand and they ran over to one of the cast members, and he gestured for me to tell the cast member what the problem was! Because of the bow problem no one else really got to interact with him but for my friend that interaction with him was truly the highlight of our trip! And I got some great pictures!:p

Still a memory for us after several years -
We had a long day at MK, very hot, and we were ready to go back to the hotel. We said we'd do one more ride - but by that times lines for almost everything were very long. We picked Snow White becuase it was the shortest and we hadn't tried it at any previous trip. The five of us were all in bad moods and were letting each other know it. I noticed that the ride cars were named after each of the dwarfs; I began to realize what car we might get, and thought it might ease the tension. But the odds were only 1 in 7, and yet when it was our turn - sure enough, we rode on "Grumpy". It was so fitting we all laughed and got out of our bad moods.
