What was the "regular" DVC annual pass discount?

With the current Platinum Annual Pass discount set to expire in early January, I wanted to find what the "regular" annual pass discount has been that may return.

Our usage of the AP's will probably just be park admission. The water parks and other extras aren't a big deal, and we travel off-peak so black out dates aren't an issue.

Was the standard deal a discount on the Gold pass... and if so, how much?

I know all of the discounts are subject to change and may not return.... just looking for an educated guess on what may be available after the special expires in January.

I think it was $100 off, but I'm watching this thread to see what theories are on the future :)

Before "Gold" existed, the DVC discount for WDW APs were commonly $100 off AP (theme parks) or $125 off Deluxe AP (theme parks + water parks, etc). The DVC discount for DLR APs remains $20 off the higher-end pass types.

The thing with Gold Pass is that it's only available to FL residents and DVC. It's not offered to anyone else but it does have blockout dates. The Gold Pass is $595 (inc tax) and the AP offered to everyone is the Platinum pass at $829, no blockouts.

So was the deal previous to this one a Gold Pass for $495 ($100 off)?

No. It's the same price as FL resident gold. The "deal" is you get to purchase it instead of the regular $800 one.

Thank you. Bottom line is I was trying to determine if an annual pass would be available for DVC for less than $595... looks like the answer is 'no'.

I was wondering this too. So after Jan it will jump up to $779 price?

Once you have an annual pass you can renew it for a discount, so you get the next one for less than $595. But the renewal means the next pass starts immediately. Sometimes it is better to pay the full price and start the next annual pass at a later date so you get more trips out of it.

We don’t know for sure.
First there was the Gold Pass.
Then last year they offered the Gold Pass with 13 months., making it easier to get multiple trips out of it if you go at the same time each year.
Then they offered the Platinum Plus for the price of a Gold.

So when the Platinum Plus deal expires, they have several options. It is most likely that they would offer a 12 month gold pass, but they could change it up if they want. It is possible, but not likely, that there would be no deal for DVC Members at all.
If they do offer the Gold Pass, be sure to check out the blackout dates.

Also I believe if we buy the current AP Platinum deal and something that fits our needs better comes out we can apply the purchase price to that new deal?
