of having fast passes distributed for the two showings of Fantasmic? When we lined up there was a big crowd and people were pushing and shoving us. Not exactly how I wanted to start my viewing of the show.
Also, many CMs kept telling people to stand and then sit. Which can be confusing because a lot of people wanted to sit down before the show started as they were probably waiting there for a long time.

In theory, having FPs for the show reduces the number of folks that camp out in front of the Rivers of America for hours before the show starts. It should also reduce the wait time needed to see the show. Having CMs telling you to stand then sit (or vice-a-versa) is probably a sign of someone having the wrong information and then trying to correct it.

I think you are correct. However, it also increases the amount of pushing and shoving because you are opening the section up to a large number of people at once. Before, people would gradually start filling in spots over a few hours leading up to the show...now it's the same amount of people trying to fill in the same amount of space, but in a shorter amount of time.

Yikes, that sounds like no fun at all. This is why I haven't seen WOC yet and plan to do the Blue Bayou package next month. So did you actually get to sit during the show? I thought I heard that everyone has to stand.

Angrose they are talking about Fantasmic! and you said WOC. Which are you looking for information on? Fantasmic! does have some places where you sit whereas WOC you may sit while waiting but before the show starts everyone has to stand unless you are in the handicap area which is restricted. Hope that helps.

WOC fp was so easy to do in nov. If they made the F fp like the woc fp it might help more. Now me, I liked the old way. Id camp out for hours to get a good spot and it worked fine for me. I also can see why they changed it too.

Sorry, I was referring to F! I have read on here that everyone has to stand now except for the BB and RBT dining plans. I always preferred seeing F! Because I could sit during the show. Even if it was on the ground, it was better than standing after a long day at the parks. I have skipped WOC in the past because I am short and worry that I would spend time waiting, then not be able to see the show very well. Now that is my fear with F! now that it sounds like the two shows have a similar set up.

I am short 5'1 on good days, 5 on bad days (lol sorry its true sometimes)
I got good seats for woc last year. Right up against the rail up away from the water near the middle. Just be there early and ready to go in when they let ppl in. Or see the late shows too. I have heard some good views happen for those late shows because all the little ones are mostly back at the hotel.

All that said i wish they would put seats in even if they were just bench's for all the shows like this.

Technically, only the Blue Bayou viewing area is guaranteed to be seated. However, in practice, there are areas in the RBT, Hungry Bear Dessert Party, and FP viewing areas where guests are also allowed/required to sit on the ground. My guess is that DLR doesn't want to guarantee ground seating for any of the other viewing areas because it would make things seem less special/exclusive in the Blue Bayou viewing area. Also, in terms of the FP, you can get a lot more folks into the same area if they're standing, so I can see why they would say that none of the FP area is seated. It gives them flexibility to issue more FP is there is enough demand (e.g., during the peak crowd days).

I actually am glad that there is now FP for Fantasmic. It honestly was an eyesore and annoying to see a ton of people camping all over the ground (and the planters) for hours before the show even started. I've enjoyed being able to walk around my favorite area of the park at sunset again, without having to step over people and their junk.

When we were there a week ago, BB was seating, front and center, RBT was seating, directly to the left of the BB section. (left if facing the water). Directly to the right of BB seating was seated only, for people with yellow fast passes. The yellow fp were handed out first.

I also loved the "camping" experience. Now the area is roped off, and last week they started roping before 4PM, so IF campers blocking the area was the problem, they made that problem worse. And the area in front of the Golden Horseshoe was PACKED before the show with people waiting to be allowed in. I don't know what time people started congregating, but we were trying to walk thru around 6, and F! was starting at 7:30.

I personally think it is another Disney money making gimmick. However, we did the BB package and dinner was delicious and it was really nice walking into the BB area 20 minutes before the show and sitting one family back from the fence.

-although, side note, we thought it was really weird that you could order Portabella mushroom with cous cous for the same price as you could order filet mignon and lobster tail. I ordered the steak and lobster (surf and turf), my husband ordered the fillet and we agreed that his fillet was the same size as mine even though mine had lobster tail and his did not.

A package deal (meal and reserved viewing area) like the Fantasmic! Dining Package has a fixed price regardless of what you order, rather than a la carte pricing. Because of this a person who orders the least expensive entree or skips the dessert would be getting less value than someone ordering the most expensive item.

I find it interesting that if you have a regular reservation and not the Fantasmic Package there is only a $2 price difference between the filet and the filet & lobster entrees. For the $2 more I would order the combo, as would another family member, and give my lobster tail to that person since she loves lobster. :rotfl2:

Hi again,
I did manage to get a fast pass for the first show when I went. It was just the people pushing the disabled that was a shock. Why would they do that?
I was in a seating spot on the stairs. I think I remember why the CMs were telling people to sit or stand. It was so they didn't block our view. Which can be a little inconsiderate to the people taking a seat. Or they were lost. I guess I was caught up in the excitement.
