What was that about parking??

Hi guys! I just listened to the podcast and as John was talking about changes to 2011 they briefly mentioned in passing something about charing 15 dollars a night to park at resorts, is this true and is it all resorts?? If it is that is highway robbery.

If I remember correctly, this is only at Disneyland for 2011. They are speculating that it could find it's way to Florida eventually, but nothing official has been announced for the near future.

Please Disney, don't be another Universal. Don't charge for parking! We are a family that drives to WDW a few times a year. We drive because the cost of airfare for a family of five is ... Also, we like the convenience of having our own car to come and go as we please.

Will this include the Disney Vacation Club properties too? If so, I'll be really upset. We pay our annual dues. The dues should include being able to park at our resort!

I would assume it'd be a part of membership dues for DVC members.

Charging to park at the resorts is ridiculous. However, it also doesn't seem to be all that unusual in some cases - and those cases are where parking is limited and usually in a shared structure. This is not the case at Disney.

If they did this, it would be unbelievable arrogance. Especially given some resorts are designed with the expectation that people have cars (SSR and OKW). If I can't park at my "home away from home", then it really isn't.

John did mention it was at Disneyland, not Disney World. While I don't like it I could understand it in DL only because parking is much more limited. The resorts at Disney World, however, have plenty of parking and to charge for something like that is ridiculous IMO.
