I just got tix to the midnight showing of Eclipse for me, dd and her friend
I'm not a Twilight fan and I could have easily sent her to see it the next morning with another group of friends and their moms but she really wanted to go to the Midnight showing. The things we do, or have to suffer through for our kids .
Has anyone ever gone to one of the Midnight showings? One of dd's other friends told her that she shouldn't go because its going to be wild and crazy (but she has never been, just repeating what her mom said when she asked if she could go with us). Is there any truth to that?

My brother can never get his wife to go so I "suffer" through them. I wouldn't call 'em wild and crazy (maybe I have a high wild and crazy threshold) - mostly enthusiastic fans celebrating, well, enthusiastically. You'll probably see people dressed as characters in the movie. At one of the Star Wars, there was a few very realistic looking characters dueling light sabers. I've always had fun!

Thats the stuff I was expecting but the way this girl was talking she made it sound like more trouble than excitement.

Should we go get in line early so we can get decent seats?

I wouldn't call it wild and crazy but its alot of fun, For New Moon there were about 20 of us "Twilight Moms" who all got together to see the midnight showing.. We started at the one neighbors house for a glass of wine and munchies then carpooled to the theatre.

For Eclipse we have about 17 Twilight Moms. A couple of the woman are on vacation. Can't wait , it will be fun, but I'll be dragging the next day, especially since I have to work. :headache:

I went to a midnight screening of the last Twilight film, but I'm in the UK so we probably have a lower level of "wild and crazy" for everything here :P It totally wasn't wild and crazy. The audience was about 80-90% teenage girls who were excited to see the film, and were laughing and 'awww'ing at appropriate moments and occasionally shouting things out. I'm not a massive Twilight fan but I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the screening, it was really friendly and just happy. I'm going to the midnight screening of Eclipse, mostly for the experience rather than for the opportunity to see the film as soon as possible. I hope it's the same for you and your daughter!

Also, if you've got seat numbers specified on your ticket then you won't need to get there early because your seats will be reserved. If not then yeah, you might want to get there early.

Part of the fun for me is the anticipation and talking with other fans so we always arrive early. I'd check with your daughter and her friend to how soon they want to go--and then decide if you really want to hang around that long BEFORE seeing the movie! :lmao:

Part of our wait has usually been outside and I've regretted the amount of caffeine I've ingested without having a restroom handy. ;)

Well crap I promised DD we would do this one after I said no to Lightening Thief due to it being a school night.....What was I thinking, it is still a work night!

I also promised my DDs they could do this. :upsidedow

I thought I had it worked out with a friend (who was the perfect choice because she is a night person like me, and she has two DDs the same ages as mine and they are good friends. We often do stuff together.) but they are going to be out of town then. Bummer! So I have to find someone new to go with.

The girls understand that NO WAY am I dropping them at a theater at midnight (they are 13 and 11) but they don't want to SIT with me - lol. So now I must find a friend for each of them, whose moms will let them stay out 'til 2am. (and who will let them see Twilight to start with...)

And whoa - I'd better hurry up and buy the tickets!! They need to find some friends FAST!
