What Value Resort is the Best and Why?

We have stayed at POP in the past and are looking to stay at another value resort for our up coming trip. POP seems to be the biggest of value resorts and seemed to have the longest bus lines compared to the other value resorts. Why is the POP the most popular, or so it seems? Are the other value resorts nice? I was wondering if we stayed at a different value resort maybe we wouldn't have to wait in the long, long bus lines.

Honestly, the reason I like POP is BECAUSE OF their bus transportation! I have found that having only one stop proves to make for a nice short ride to whichever park I am headed to.

They are currently refurbishing POP and the rooms will have new flat screen tv's and new furniture, etc.

Other than Pop my favorite Value is Movies because it has a lot of Disney themed stuff

We stayed at Music and enjoyed it. There were games and movies by the pool every night. Also, I think the bus thing is over hyped. Not once did we share a bus with any of the other All Stars. From what I've read, Music seems to be quieter than the other values too.

We haved stayed at all the values and have had great stays at all of them. Our last 3 trips were at Pop and while we enjoyed it, we are tired of the theme. For our next trip my DD (12) chose Movies based on the theme - with music coming in a close second - she's not into sports, so she didn't even consider Sports. I say pick the resort based on what you like.

We have too done the All Stars and POP and we MUCH prefer POP.

Buses were 100X better, desk service was much quicker and more friendly, the food court lay out was better and our house keeping was much better. We liked the location of our room so much at pop we are going to request the same place next trip.

The theme is not a huge issue for us but we did like the ASM theme better.

I have stayed at all the All Stars and have to say POP is my favorite. Really the only thing different is the theming of the resorts. I agree that the local and having it's own bus were awesome! We found it to be very quite and clean when we went in November.

I stayed in music when I was in high school and sports in 2007... I stayed in pop in 2006, 2009x2, and am staying there this year too.... they do not share a bus and MAYBE it is just my imagination but I feel like the rooms are just a little bigger (or maybe it is the layout I don't know but my luggage fit in between the bed and wall at pop and not at sports). And I just htink pop is really cute lol

Well DD and I have stayed at all three All Stars and Pop. Music by far is our favorite followed by Movies, Pop, and Sports in last place.

We have never encounter any bus issues at the All Stars. Each time we stayed there during the busy times of day we would always have our own bus.

Our expereince at Pop was only so so and we really did not get into the theming that much.

At Music there games and activites by the pool. The staff was fabulous and it did seem much quiter than the other resorts (we even were in a pool side room).

For the smaller size we loved ASMu. The movies by the pool at night are great too.

POP is great too. Just different. Everything seems bigger.

we always stay at Pop. I can't pull myself away. We love it so much. But maybe someday I'll give movies a try. I have good and bad about all of them

I agree with those who posted about the buses. Bus service at POP seems far superior--we didn't have to wait for buses more than 5 minutes at POP. At Movies, I cannot tell you how many times we waited 45+ minutes for a bus. I will never do All Stars again. We are staying at POP this fall.

I think it is all personal preference. We have stayed at all the AllStars at least once. Never POP, we'd like to someday but we travel with my grandparents who, while they wouold go if we wanted to, do not find it appealing. Pllus, being that it is larger and my DH often uses a cane, it seems like not a great fit right now. Anyway, we found our favorite to be Sports, which is odd because me and my 3 girls are not into sports, but while we love the themeing at Movies best, we have found the atmosphere and Cast Members at Sports have been outstanding. Now, I can't tell you you will find that to be the same, in fact I hear people here say Sports is the worst. But, we love it and feel like itis our home. I will say my favorite part of the AllStars is that we can choose to go to the others for things like the Movies at the Pool at Music. We'd miss that if we were at POP.

So, I am no help. Sorry.

We love POP....as well. Have stayed in the others but we always talk about how we will go back to POP.

BUT....I SAY CAMP!! That would be my pick....Fort Wilderness is beautiful and there is always something fun going on there!! (Not to mention Hoop de Doo is right on site....always a must!)

We have stayed at POP and ASMo and found both to be spacious enough for our family (2A, 2C ages 6 & 4 and an infant in a playpen) given how much time we spent in the room.

Regarding where to put your luggage so it is out of the way. We have always put our empty luggage up on the shelf in the closet. We put 5 suitcases up there and it doesn't seem to be too heavy for the shelf.

Thank you for the input. Does any one know when Pop will be done remodeling? We did love Pop and the staff but wanted to try something different as it seemed very crowded and thought maybe a different value resort wouldn't be as crowded.

We have done Asmu and POP for values. Pop wins hands down!

The buses are so much better at Pop, never the waits we had at Asmu. Also the pool is better at Pop. And we love to stay facing the lake, something other values dont have. It makes it quiet and feel less cheap if that makes sense. Everyone at Pop is so friendly, we just love it!

We enjoy the AsMu. They have different activities that go on like music at the pool and they(the life guards) brought out a big ball and we played volleyball.The ball was bigger than my then 5 year old. We stayed in the very last room on the floor level and it was very quiet. We were there in July. Our plan is to stay in each resort at least once to determine what is our favorite!
