What up with King Arthur's Carousel?? AHHH!

All of a sudden it's going to be in refurb for our trip . Does anyone know how long it will be down for? I guess we're left with King Triton's at least. Hopefully it will be up on one of our next trips.

Has anyone heard anything about Splash being down later in Feb? Our usual trips are in Feb, and everytime we've been there Splash has been down, just wondering what our chances are of actually getting to ride it this time.

The Disneyland calendar is showing King Arthur Carrousel down all the way through the end of May (which is as far out as the calendar goes).

No mention of Splash Mountain...so hopefully you'll get a chance to ride it!

I was checking the calender for my trip next week and saw that is was down, too. I was so sad. Hopefully they don't shut any more rides down before we get there. Small World being down already makes it not feel right.

Great during the time we are there most of the things that my DD is not freaked out by will be closed. Small World, Jungle cruise, King Arthurs and Playhouse Disney. I am going to have a very disappointed DD. So now the only two left that she will go on are the tea cups and Dumbo- mama is going to be very dizzy after all that spinning.

It went down this week with no warning. Not sure what's going on as it was working on Sunday. They don't appear to be doing any work.

It's one of my kids' favorites as well. But, there's still King Triton, if you plan on going over to DCA. Yea, I'm sad about Small World as well, I haven't been on it in over 16 years, I was hoping to convince dh this time since ds would like it. But, it should be up before our AP's run out.

One of the reasons(besides work and school) we never go during any other time except summer. I hate taking the time and resources to go and then have rides down.

To be honest, I could really care less that this ride is closed. I hadn't planned on rideing it anyway. As long as none of the major attractions are closed, I'll be ok. And Im with the thread starter... I hope Splash is open for when I go. I havent ridden it in almost a decade! It's always closed when I go. If I have to miss out again... Im going to *#%&$@!

Well,I started the thread because I am kind of upset that some of the tamest rides will be down on such a big "family trip" because my 3 year old can only ride so many things.

However, that said, Splash is kind of a big thing for us also, because it has been down the last three times we have been there, and it's getting a little annoying, lol.

I can understand that. Not sure if this was a planned closure, but it went down pretty quick. Lights are on, there is music, but it's closed. I can't complain, though. They opened Monsters Inc. 5 days early and I was able to get my kids on today (our last day)!

I too am totally bummed that King Arthur's is closed for our trip and that Matterhorn will be closed half of our trip (if it opens back up as scheduled). These are two of our favorites (I love King Arthur's and have since my first trip when I was 3) - my four year old cried last night when I told her it would be closed for our trip! I can live with Jungle Cruise being down (my kids weren't all that interested in it last year even though I enjoy it). My family does not have the option of going on vacation in the summer and we do enjoy the calmer pace of the parks in off season. Yes, the ride refurbs are a trade off, but it does seem strange this year that alot of the tamer stuff is down at the same time (plus Carnation Cafe being closed is really bothering me!). I, too, hope Splash is up and running as it was closed last year on our trip and my kids have never been on it. My sister and I have been telling them how awesome it is and if we miss it again this year I will really be bummed. We go in two weeks and I just hope there are no more surprises!

That's great! I'm sure we will survive and there will be plenty of stuff to do, and it's not like we won't get to go back and at some point this year it will have to open back up. I just thought I'd whine a bit.

WOAH thats a seriously long time for a carousel referb. Something musta gone totally wrong on that thing to make it be down for that long.
