What type of Stroller should I plan to bring?

I have already asked about a stroller for my 'will be 13 month old', but I was assuming we would need to make it with an umbrella stroller. I have seen some pictures with what appears to be bigger strollers.

What say ye?

There are strollers on board which you can borrow - for $100 deposit. I am not sure how many are available, so you may want to check with Guest Services early on after you board.

One of the concerns of bigger strollers is fitting in the elevators onboard...they are not very large and one stroller can take up the whole thing. A smaller stroller would be easiest to manuever around.

I would bring the umbrella one and then if you need a bigger one for him to sleep in at some point you can get one from guest services..I needed one the 3rd day and had no trouble getting one. The elevators are SO small, a big stroller and mom and dad could take the whole thing. I usually take the stairs but I had my 76 year old mom with me and there were times we waited for 5-6 elevators to come by the time we got one that we could fit in!

We took the big stroller and it did take up most of the elevator. But, it also gave us flexibility since our kids are 7 months, 3 and 5- no matter who fell asleep they could fit in the big stroller. It is MUCH more difficult to fit in the elevators and to fit through the door of the stateroom (it is narrow), so if you think you can get by with the umbrella stroller- do it. I would definately take the backpack for excursions, that's what we did. You'll find that foreign ports don't have the U.S. accesibility standards, so there are a lot of places with steps that a stroller cannot go. If you are planning on shopping in port you will also find that the popular stores are very crowded when the ship is in port, so a stroller would be difficult to maneuver there too.

The strollers that they have on the ship are great for walking around in port! They have the bigger wheels so you can push them along if you end up on the grass or sand. We will get one again next time for DD if we take her with us when we walk around the port area.

We took a small stroller on the 14 day repo cruise for our DS whos 2nd birthday is today.
We used the stroller for boarding the ship and for port days, but the rest of the time it was folded up in our closet. I would suggest taking a stroller that reclines or planning on using one of the ships strollers for port days. As our DS fell asleep on more than once while we were off the ship walking around.
