I think my hesitation with it is as, some others have said, I already spend so much time on the computer, I am afraid to spend anymore. But on the other hand, I am tired of the mess that I make when I scrapbook so maybe it would be a good change?

You'll be able to multitask -- LOL! Scrap and hang out in the forums at the same time. I guess I am on the computer a little more now that I am digi scrapping.... but I am getting WAY more pages completed. I was never caught up when I paper scrapped....But with digi I am always close to caught up. I often will literally scrap my pictures the same day I take them... which may also be why my journaling is better... because I can actually REMEMBER what was happening when I took my the pics. LOL!

Welcome. :) I know you can buy printers that actually print in 12 x 12 now, but they are quite expensive.... I have been printing my 12 x12 prints through scrapbookpictures.com and have been very happy with the quality. I prefer the matte finish over the glossy. They are $3.49 per print with a $2 flat rate shipping regardless of number of prints ordered, and they frequently have sales for $2.49 per print. Here's the website. http://www.scrapbookpictures.com/SBPView.jsp

Christy I love them!!!!! I used this site for last years christmas photo, they were fast and had a great quality picture.I had 1 big picture and the photo cards done.
And the fact that you can print tons of non standard sizes is awesome!
I plan to use them again this year.

And the owner is so nice and helpful... I have asked him all kinds of random questions, and he always responds right back and is so friendly.... I really have not seen a better deal for the quality anywhere... I think there may be some slightly better "deals" out there for 12 x 12s, but I think a lot of those places basically print out the pages on their printers -- and not even always on real photo paper, so I would be concerned about the archival quality....

I tried a few digital pages with some free software. It was a nice change, but I was frustrated with the limitations of the software (what can you expect when it's free). After about 10 pages I was very ready to go back to hand scrapping.

I will probably scrap some digital pages now and again, but I think I prefer hand scrapping.

I do other projects, cards, posters, gifts, etc. that I use my scrapbook supplies for and my DD8 would be so mad if I got rid of my scrapbook supplies!

Right now I do mostly digital but I still have all of my paper supplies and occassionally do a paper page. My plan is to do all of my new pictures digital and all of the old printed pictures paper.

Paper all the way here as well. I have no desire to get into digital. Like others I like the tactile feel of everything, the actual process is as much fun as the end result for me.

Well, i started paper scrapping - did that for 6 years, and then a couple years ago switched to 100% digi.

However, that being said, i am finding myself sort of missing my ol' paper scrappin' days lately..
Maybe b/c now i have an office job and sit in front of the computer all day.. or maybe b/c i now have a wonderful cricut machine to use.. who knows.. LOL

But, i am slowly starting to think about switching back to paper. I think i am going to try my next album back to paper (my last Disney cruise i just came back from a couple weeks ago) and see how i like it.. Maybe i just needed a break for a while..
But, i miss hanging out and going cropping and lugging my 10 pounds of paper along.. LOL

Unlike Christy, i was way more caught up when I paper scrapped -- i have found since i started digi, i am falling behind! Maybe i just spend too much time searching for cool kits and downloading.. who knows.. LOL

I do love crops too -- so fun!.... I'm still finishing up some paper projects so I still attend them and host them from time to time. I would miss them I think. Your DD is older than my kids.... I think that makes a difference too.... maybe once mine are older and I don't have to worry about them cutting themselves on a trimmer or hammering an eyelet into the dining room table, I will get an urge to return to paper scrapping too, LOL!

Well ordinarily I'd say hand only , but as a digital artist, I do like to incorporate different digital elements, but I don't thnk I'll ever become 100% digital.

Yup, i understand... Also, what helps me is my beautiful craft room -- i can leave out all my goodies and no one has to tell me to clean them up.. LOL :goodvibes

I have only done 3 scrapbooks so far, but I love doing them by hand. I find it very relaxing. Also my DH just bought me a Cricut and I think he would be a little mad if I abandoned it for all digital!!! :lmao:

I voted do both, but more digital.

Don't get me wrong - I love traditional scrapbooking, but I've caught the digital bug bad. I still do both, but as soon as I'm all caught up with my film photos I'll be switching to ditigal for 90% of the books. Yes, I love the tactile feel of traditional, but to be honest, I love the compact size of digital. I am starting to run out of room for my 12" albums, and I'm 5 years behind in my scrapbooking. Scary.

This is how I'm going to work it. As soon as I get to my dititally-taken photos only, I'll do photobooks for the most part, but will use the traditional paper albums as more traditional scrapbooks. For example, all the memorabilia we collect will go in a trad. album instead of scanning it into the 'puter for ditital LOs. Make sense?

I also love the fact that when I turn off the 'puter, my virutal "mess" is cleaned up. :rotfl: No more taking over the dining room table for weeks on end!

I love both! I still do more paper than digi, but my digi LOs are catching up to the number of paper LOs I do. I still am a paper scrapper at heart, and have WAY too many supplies to ever stop paper scrapping completely. Plus, I love my Cricut too much! But I also love digi, and certain things I can do on the computer, like stitching, that I never could do on paper. I also love being able to resize pics & recoloring elements digitally. At this point, I think I'll be doing both equally, except when I'm waiting for pics to be printed. ;)
