What type of sandals for Disney trip?

I need some suggestions for good sandals for my trip to WDW in Sept. I will probably need something that fastens around the ankle b/c I have a narrow foot. I do not like flip/flop styles and I have the payless version of crocs but don't think they are comfortable enough to walk around the world in.

Also do you usually wear socks with your sandals or go sockless? I would love to not to have wear socks but I don't want blisters either!

I like Clarks for a touring sandal. Real Crocs are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn but they look funny. DD likes Teva sandals

They are kinda expensive but I swear by my SAS sandals. They buckle two on top of the foot and have a strap around the back. I've never had a single problem in my SAS's.... i've walked and walked all over Disney in them and never a single blister or foot pain. They run about $80 though.

I'm a Birkenstock lover. Support like you wouldn't believe. They do take breaking in for most people, but they form to your foot. I also like Ryka sandals. And NO socks.

I LOVE my Tevas, they're older Spoilers. I like the ones with a more textured foot surface than the newer ones. I got mine from Zappos, that way you can buy a couple pairs, keep one and send the rest back. Free shipping both ways! Beats going to six stores that carry one line each. A lot of people like the Pretty Rugged leather. I have them, and I like them, but my spoilers are much more comfy.

Oh, and no socks.

I know you said you didn't like flip flops, but I LOVE my Teva flip flops. I have three pairs, and have worn them all over the World. Don't even bother with tennis shoes anymore. Check out other Teva styles, they have so many, I'm sure you could find something you like. But for $21.99, I think these flip flops are the best thing going!!

The only sandal I wear are Mephisto's..They are by far the most comfortable sandal I have ever wore, and I have been wearing them for several years. I don't wear any other shoes.. They are pricey 125.00, but to me worth every penny. Comfortable!!!

I just walked all over Orlando in my Teva sandals. I usually get blisters if I don't wear socks with my shoes but not with these Tevas. The model is called Pretty Rugged Leather. I swear by them.

I took both the Pretty Rugged leather and the Pretty Rugged Nylon. The nylons were SO much more comfortable to wear to walk around in. The leathers just didn't have the same arch support for me, so I mostly wore them to dinner or when I wasn't doing much walking.

I wore Teva Stratum sandals last summer...they were great! Very comfortable and water proof which was great for water rides (Splash Mountain) and the sudden afternoon downpours.

If you are concerned at all about blisters, you should try Body Glide. They sell it at most sporting goods stores ~ I got mine at REI. It comes in a deoderant type stick and you apply it to your feet wherever you would tend to get blisters and prevents blisters fronm forming. I think you can also use it on other areas to prevent chafing. I swear by it!

They're super comfortable and kind of cute. I've had no problem going sockless in them, and the ankle band makes them feel very secure.

I have read so many good things about Teva (Pretty Rugged) on these boards. I went to REI last night and tried on the nylon and the leather, they were both really comfortable. Then I came home and went to rei.com, outlet store, and found the nylon on sale for around $39, (2005 style) with free shipping to the store! I will have a few weeks to break them in. I trust all the recomendations I have read here, and look forward to wearing sandals instead of socks and sneakers in August.
